Pope Leo's MAGA Criticism Builds

Anonymous
Pope Leo has rebuked the White House over its treatment of immigrants, its potential invasion of Venezuela and alienation of European allies. Too bad so many Catholics voted Trump back into office...

Pope Leo XIV — a Chicago native who was inaugurated in May as the first pontiff from North America — has condemned the Trump administration’s treatment of migrants, calling it “inhuman” and not “pro-life.”

Trump said he had been unaware of the criticism, when asked about the pope’s remarks. “I haven’t seen that. I mean … I mean, he … maybe he has. I mean, he also didn’t like the wall. You know, they didn’t like the wall,”

In recent weeks, Pope Leo has taken aim at U.S. foreign policy. He urged Trump not to launch a military invasion of Venezuela, calling for “another way to bring about change, if that is what the United States decides to do.”

Before his papal anointment, Leo — then-Cardinal Robert Prevost — also reposted on social media an op-ed criticizing Vice President JD Vance, a Catholic convert, for his interpretation of the faith and Washington’s tough immigration program.

“Do you not see the suffering? Is your conscience not disturbed?” the op-ed reposted by Prevost read.

He needs to start excommunicating people.

Not one single soul cares what the pope has to say, including so-called Catholics.

The disconnect between leadership and flock in the Catholic Church is the natural consequence of the unnatural lives the leadership live. This is most obvious on things like replacement migration, where priests and Popes have no posterity or fatherly regards. They simply don’t care about all the harm they are causing their people.

TLDR: Martin Luther did nothing wrong

Does this mean Vance will be sent to meet with Pope Leo?

That’s not how it works. For Vance or any other Catholic.

It is appropriate for the Pope as a world leader to weigh in on issues of human dignity like this.

Just because you lack a soul--and a brain, because you seem to think you know what billions of people care about--does not mean that others are the same as you.

I think the PP is showing some dark humor, because Pope Francis died within hours of meeting JD Vance.

+1 Of course Catholics care what the Pope thinks. I'm not even Catholic, and I care what the Pope thinks.

What’s a “so-called” Catholic?

According to The National Catholic Registry.

The poll found that Catholic voters trusted Trump more than Harris on immigration by a massive 25-point margin, 57% to 32%. It also found that Catholics trusted Trump more on the economy by a 19-point margin, 55% to 36%.

Both Trump and his running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance, courted the Catholic vote heavily in the last few weeks of the election. In late October, Trump called Harris “destructive to Christianity” and said Catholics are “treated worse than anybody.” In that same week, Vance published an op-ed in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, accusing Harris of “prejudice against Catholics.”

Apparently these Catholics don’t know their history of Catholic immigrants being
second-class citizens to the Protestants who got here earlier. I wonder how they feel now when they see immigrants dragged along the streets worse than stray dogs.

The states included in the NBC poll were Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin.

You mean perhaps his own brother? Seriously ??

Trump won the Catholic vote among voters without college degrees. He got 64% of their vote.

College graduates and post graduates voted for Harris by a small margin.

This shows that when people read and keep informed they the avoid the unqualified candidates. When others watch Fox News, a station that avoids any negative news on their candidates and a bit of fake news on the democrats they will vote for the Fox candidate.
