YT vs. Westfield is the most interesting game. Westfield has looked much improved, and YT has played the top teams so far and fallen short.
YT by 3 |
| YT hung with Madison but then the wheels fells off. They have a good team. Madison is better though. Agree, intriguing matchup with Westfield. 3 Yorktown is due for a breakout game. Defenses have been good on his so far. I see YT by 1 in this game. |

What are lines / predictions for tonight's games?
1.) Centreville @ Woodson 2.) W-L @ Langley 3.) Yorktown @ Westfield 4.) Lake Braddock @ Oakton |
| Oakton over LB by 5+ |
I have Woodson -3: I think their goalie will play really well. Langley -5: This could be a good bounce back game or they could continue to spiral. Yorktown -2: This could become a lot larger because I'm not sure Westfield has a pole to slow down number 3. Oakton -4: After bouncing McLean in a big way I expect that to continue especially with Lake Braddock losing to Chantilly. |
| Any predictions for riverside Oakton? |
1. Woodson -5 2. Langley -3 3. Yorktown -4 4. Oakton -2 |
| Riverside 20 Oakton 4 |
Woodson -7 Langley -2 Yorktown -1(OT) Oakton -5 |

Week 2 2026 VA Boys Class 6 Rankings
1. Independence (0-0) Analysis: Season starts with an easy one against Loudoun County, followed by a game against the Fightin Planets, a solid squad from Mars, PA. Up Next: 3/25 v. Loudoun County, 3/27 v. Mars 2. Robinson (2-0) Results: Def. Yorktown 9-5, Def. McLean 17-3 Analysis: Rams looked solid on faceoffs and, as expected, defense is tops in the league and will help them control possession. Offense got rolling against a very down McLean squad. Huge match this week between the two perennial power teams in NOVA. Up Next: 3/25 v. Madison 3. Madison (2-0) Results: Def. Langley 14-7, Def. Yorktown 11-4 Analysis: Two big wins in week one. Offense is humming early and defense looks slightly better than expected this early in the season. Big games this week – Madison needs to work on faceoffs as Robinson should dominate at the X. Up Next: 3/25 @ Robinson, 3/21 v. Lake Braddock 4. Battlefield (0-0) Analysis: Season kicks off this week with an away game at Yorktown that could help clarify the top of the rankings. Up Next: 3/25 @ Yorktown 5. Cosby (1-0) Results: Def. Powhatan 18-3 Analysis: We forgot about Cosby in the first rankings and frankly don’t know as much about them this season, as they graduated four first team all-State players, including their FOGO, goalie, attack, and defense, plus an additional second team all-State defender. They return a stud midfielder and some other all-region type players and should be primed to come out of the south again. They have Robinson, Yorktown, and Battlefield on the schedule this season so we will get to see how they stack up. Up Next: 3/23 v. Clover Hill, 3/25 @ Monacan, 3/28 @ Atlee 6. Oakton (1-0) Results: Def. McLean 14-3 Analysis: Oakton makes a big move up with a solid showing against an admittedly weak McLean team, combined with a slow start by Yorktown and a bad loss by Langley. Sophomore attack led with 4 goals and 2 assists, and one of the freshman had a goal and assist. Tough week ahead including a match with Riverside. Up Next: 3/23 v. Lake Braddock, 3/25 @ Riverside, 3/28 v. Herndon 7. Yorktown (0-2) Results: Lost to Robinson 9-5, Lost to Madison 11-4 Analysis: Offense has yet to get rolling as opposing teams load up on #3 and other threats have not yet emerged. Defense is a bit better than expected early on, keeping Robinson to single digits and holding Madison to fewer than Langley did. Tough start stays tough with three decent games this week. Like last season, Yorktown could start the season deep in the hole with multiple losses. Up Next: 3/23 @ Westfield, 3/25 v. Battlefield, 3/27 @ Heights 8. West Potomac (1-0) Results: Def. Washington-Liberty 11-10 Analysis: Way tighter than expected against a W-L team that was thought to be down this year. Wolverines did manage to put up some goals as expected, but defense seems a bit suspect. Game with Langley will be a good test as both teams try to find their footing. Up Next: 3/25 vs. Langley 9. Langley (0-1) Results: Lost to Madison 14-7 Analysis: As predicted, Langley’s defense was not ready for primetime. Although Langley won almost all of the faceoffs, Madison was able to score at will. This very young defense is going to have to grow up fast with a brutal stretch of 4 games in six days against some very tough opponents. Langley could have four or more losses in their first five games and be out of the rankings next week Up Next: 3/23 v. Washington-Liberty, 3/25 @ West Potomac, 3/26 @ DeMatha, 3/28 @ Oceanside Academy 10. Herndon (1-0) Results: Def. South Lakes 13-7 Analysis: Herndon took it to South Lakes with the York commit pumping in 5 goals and adding two assists to lead the Hornets. Games this week against Woodson and Oakton should provide good early tests for Herndon. Up Next: 3/23 @ Edison, 3/25 @ Woodson, 3/28 v. Oakton Also Considered: Chantilly, Westfield, Woodson, West Springfield |
