Yes, that's why kids are leaving DCU and going to IVY League and other colleges because DCU is failing them That's why DCU have players in the Premier League, because they are failing the kids. Which academy isn't failing the kids? Because we aren't seeing announcements of a steady stream of MLS Academy players from anywhere signing significant contracts with major clubs consistently.
DCU does NOT have players in the premier league. FULL STOP.. one player in the ACADEMY of a premier.league team is so very different. U19 Bournemouth is two teams away from the first team. Delta between those team in terms of level is significant.
Tell that to the Bournemouth staff that have had him on the bench for Premier League games the past few weeks 🙄 Always a hater waiting to pounce
What players from DCU are in the premier league again?? Last time I checked players meant more than one. And also, the bench is not playing in the premier league. Bench players are in fact doing just the opposite, not playing. Either way, your statement of players in the premier League from DCU is on its face false.
You know an idiot is speaking when they say being rostered on the reserves for a Premier League game is a nothing accomplishment. |

It is an accomplishment. Just that the player is not playing 1. And 2. There are not multiple players from DCU in the premier league as was stated. |

So when substitutions are made during a game, where does the sub come from? You're being an ass trying to throw mud on the kid's accomplishment which I'm 100% sure surpasses anything you've done in your life or will ever do. Or your kid will ever do. |
| But let's keep it 100...this is a player that was barely playing at DC United in the MLS two months ago. You think he's going to get minutes in the prem after being in Europe for one month and playing with the u19s? And has never played a full season of football in Europe at that speed and level? Right. Got it. |
Like I said it's a great accomplishment. Just don't try and embellish to prop up DCUs academy. I've forgotten more than you probably know.... |
Personally, I hope the kid does well. It's a great opportunity. No one is throwing mud at a player playing in a premier league academy and getting on the first team bench for game days. That's cool. Let's see how his career progresses. |
Yeah, that's why you on dcum carrying out a vendetta against a MLS academy and it's kids. Because you're a giant in the soccer galaxy |
No one has any vendettas. Just won't allow a narrative about DCU to permeate our area that is completely false because it is ultimately detrimental to the kids and their opportunities as players. That is, that DCU is a quality operation when it is in fact not one. Not saying anyone is a giant in the football world.. No one in America is. But what I am saying is that I have enough experience in the sport, both here and abroad, to know what I'm talking.about with a level of certainty. What I know for sure, because I've seen you're type of attitude in parents for many years, is that you don't have much experience with the sport, playing or just generally, you don't have a high level athlete mentality just by how you formulate your arguments, and you're defending something because your kid is involved and you want to feel bigger than you are and than what the thing you're involved in is (DCU). It's about your feelings, not the reality of the situation. I don't care about DCU because it isn't worth caring about. What I do care about is making sure that parents understand the reality of DCU so they don't make decisions with inaccurate information. It has nothing to do with DCU and all to do with leveling the playing field for parents who don't have access to information because none exists in the public realm. This thread is the only place, ANYWHERE, where DCUs shortcomings as an academy are laid out so comprehensively for all to see. You could never get this information from them, or anyone else really because they don't know themselves or even care to know because they only focus on the optics of the opportunity not the reality of it (like you). |
Will.be interesting to watch how he progresses. He's out of not playing minutes at DCU which is certainly a step in the right direction. |
This is a valid perspective. Very hard to break through for someone that has spent their entire life playing in the US. Can be done, but it will challenging. Hope for the best. |

You mean this is a place where some people misrepresent themselves as being knowledgeable and involved at the highest rungs of soccer because they figure, how would dcum parents know they're a fraud. That aside, the anti-dcua axe grinding is filled with biased opinions laying out points that are circumstantial or presented out of full context without any substantial evidence or data or objective measurements. Just a lot of 'I Say So' There isn't a group of people on dcum promoting the DC academy as the best thing since slice bread. The loud voices are the group shouting without provocation that DCU is the worst Just because someone asks, where are you getting your crap from, doesn't mean they are Pro anything. The entire US system and Every club/academy has significant shortcomings when it comes to delivering kids to the highest levels of international soccer. No place in America is doing it! |
true that, offense is eye popping lacking. i say 15 - 0, i feel for kids on defense nva should pick them up |
Too many facts have been presented to offer them again. Keep pushing that bs all you want. And so many are doing it poorly in the US, thats true, but DCU is one of the sorriest and poorest of the lot. |
