DeSantis is now taking aim at Disney annual pass benefits for employees and retirees. This doesn't make sense to me.
They spend money in the parks when they use the Annual Passes. |
| How’s that spat with Disney working out for DeSantis? |
For the district, and not the cast members? I’m not sure why they think pulling Disney passes from firefighters is going to work out well for them. |
By that logic, everyone should be given an annual pass. |
Because Ron DeSantis is a conservative governor, who acted against government COVID mandates, Democrats support giving Disney control over the local government in perpetuity. Disney will be putting a lot of money towards campaigns in 2026 of Democrats who will give them back all this power and money that was taken away by DeSantis and the Republican legislature. |

They might be great in California with laws of intellectual property, but this legal team has no knowledge of Florida special districts. Disney has a horribly weak case. |
'Nullifying the contracts' means they canceled the previous board's handing over to Disney total control of everything the board does *'until the death of the last defendant of King Charles'. This is what people are supporting because they hate DeSantis. |
Oh not many people are putting money of DeSantis to win this. Disney makes more in profit vs what Florida brings in in taxes. |
Disney likely to lose on summary judgment. The countersuit is just for some media points. |

If you really want to see what's happening in the legal case, look at the YouTube channel Legal Mindset, rather than media that is looking at things through a political lens.
Disney has lost billions here by deciding to get into politics. |
Disney's last 8 movies lost nearly a billion dollars, with only their Fox properties making money. TSG is suing them for hundreds of millions of dollars for their fraud, which tends to be the standard in Hollywood. |
Disney used their position of having executives running the independent district, then spend the tax money they collected on Disney products. The right word is kickbacks. |
If Disney's actions are allowed to stand, then your HOA could hand over all its powers to a private company forever. |
Another analogy would be Democrats winning elections in 2024, winning the House, but on New Year's Eve, Republicans in the House pass a resolution giving all their powers to ExxonMobil. |
