The MAGA Nanny State

Anonymous
It seems that the party that didn't like to be told what to do by "woke" libs is now the party that is telling us what to wear, what to eat, how to behave.
Below are some examples. I'm sure this isn't the last of this kind of talk we will hear form this administration of scolds. Before MAGA comes at me saying these government officials are right, I don't disagree but I also know that Americans, in general, do not like being told what to do.

*This trend started to get my attention when Sean Duffy, as part of his new "Golden Age of Travel" civility campaign, urged airline passengers to "dress with some respect" by wearing "a pair of jeans and a decent shirt" instead of pajamas or slippers. He claimed that dressing better "encourages us to behave better" and reduces in-flight disruptions.

* In the same campaign, advised travelers to "say please and thank you," "help older flyers with their bags," and "control your children" during air travel to foster a more courteous atmosphere and scolded passengers for "put[ting] your feet on the chair ahead of you" or "play[ing] your movie without your headphones on."

*Now Duffy is suggesting that passengers work out at the airport before boarding a flight. He proposed federal grants to install workout areas in airports, encouraging passengers to do pull-ups or step-ups to "get some blood flow" before boarding flights as part of his "civility" campaign.

*Dr. Oz just sent emails to federal employees with holiday diet tips, including "You don’t have to try every cookie on the holiday table," and weekly advice on "Crushing Cubicle Cravings" to discourage office snacking and promote healthier eating habits.

*Recently RFK promoted breastfeeding as superior to infant formula, saying "all the ingenuity of corporate America... has not produced an infant formula that is superior in nutrition... to the infant formula that God made, which is the infant formula in a mother's breast." [I happen to agree with this but I keep that opinion to myself because the topic is highly divisive among American women and is better left alone by high ranking government officials.]

*Pete Hegseth publicly fat-shamed military leaders and top generals for their weight at that bizarre meeting in Quantico, telling them to adopt stricter fitness regimens and healthier diets to "live lean, mean, and super patriotic" in the armed forces. [Being fit is now being "super patriotic"?]

How am I supposed to work out at the airport before my flight if I’m wearing the proper skirt suit with heels that the Secretary asked for?

In what sense? It's a list of quotes by Trump officials.

I'll never get over his sending his daughter to college with a book deal on how to not gain the freshman 15. She was like, and not only did I not gain the freshman 15 like so many of my friends, I even lost a few of those pesky pounds!

Like who does that

The party of limited government also wants to choose what we major in in college and how many children we have and whether or not we can get divorced, what books we can read etc etc etc
Anonymous
I agree with RFK on that one.

Don't forget that Hegseth tweeted in support of his church leaders discussing repealing thr 19th amendment that gave women the right to vote. They revere people like Charlie Kirk who told Taylor Swift to submit and have babies when she got engaged.

Republicans are not the party of freedom whatsoever.

There’s something deeply unserious and gym-bro about telling people to do pullups before their flight when your job is to make sure planes fly safely and on time.

Ditto telling women to breastfeed without acknowledging there are circumstances where it’s not possible and formula is an acceptable alternative. RFK’s intent comes across as scolding, not educating, particularly with the use of loaded religious phrases like “God made”.

People need rules, laws, norms, and shaming. Otherwise most devolve into rude selfish disgusting slobs if not criminals.

I also fully supported Michelle Obamas crusade and crap junk food.

Bring back high standards for public behavior and social shaming.

To be clear, you understand that Trump singlehandedly made standards fkr behavior and decorum worse, right? I would ground my kids for sating things he says/tweets and would be fired from my job for saying what he says, tweets.

The President of the United States of America is, to quote you, a "rude selfish disgusting slob."

When people in positions of power clean up their act and stop using the R word, grifting, accepting bribes, violating the Constitution, looting the Treasury, spreading lies, covering up for pedophiles, dumping feces on the American people from a cartoon plane, mocking the disabled, insulting journalists, being sex offenders and bullies and mobbed-up drug addicts…

…THEN they can lecture us about not putting feet on seats.

More Nanny State from 46...

John Leake just EXPOSED on Tucker Carlson that the Biden administration paid billions to the NFL, MLB, and even churches to push Covid vaccines.

“I believe it was called the Covid Vaccine Corps, which dispersed billions of dollars to various recipients.”

“The major sports leagues, the NFL, MLB, they received… just an outright bribe.

“It’s just Uncle Sam is going to give you a bunch of dough and you’re going to basically force this on your league.”

“But also, the mainline Episcopal, Protestant, Evangelical churches, Roman Catholic churches — all of their clergy received money to… push the vaccine.”

You’ll be shocked to learn that the federal government does lots of things to encourage agendas and prompt behavior. For example, there is no federal law mandating being age 21 to drink alcohol, but each state passed its own minimum age of 21 because the federal government restricted federal road funds if they didn’t. And this happened under Saint Reagan by the way. THE NANNY STATE IS AT IT AGAIN
