Catholic Church won’t stop being cruel to these nuns!

The level of cruelty directed at these octogenarians who have dedicated their lives to the Church is baffling. What is wrong with them?

The church hierarchy - all men - is used to kicking women around. Times have changed.

The Catholic Church needs to change. Let priests & nuns marry.

They have always treated nuns badly.

The first rule of monastic orders is to obey, whether it's monk or nuns. Seriously. I know you think these nuns are great, but they have disobeyed and that's a big no-no, and they know that. They're counting on public opinion, and their great age and years of service, to get a lenient response from the Church.

I think about the nun in Kansas who was dug up and displayed in a box ALL THE TIME

But obeying results in the problems with Priests that have taken advantage of others with assaults and results in payouts for the harm once people started speaking out. So wise decision to stop obeying.

Very true, but this is not abuse, is it? They're not supposed to be there. I sympathize, but it's not within the rules of their order to do this, which they knew when they entered the cloister. I know the public loves them because the public knows nothing of what it means to enter into such a conventual life... but this isn't as clear-cut as liberated society makes it out to be.

Just wait until you all find out the Catholic Church owns half of NYC!

The Catholic Church still owns the property, the new landlord doesn't like social media. Too bad. There are no rules against social media.

the Catholic church literally runs a movie studio.

There is no Catholic Rule that they are breaking. The Catholic Church owns the property and the new "landlord" just doesn't like social media. That's nothing to do with the Catholic Church that just a rogue Bishop instilling his own insane rules on people.

He has not right to kick them out.
