Husband retired 9/30. Not a peep from OPM about an annuitant number: probably because of the shut down.
Nobody answers emails. Nobody answers the phone. Open enrollment ends on Monday. Is anyone else dealing with this and have you found a solution? I'm panicking. |
When did he submit his papers to his employing agency? It does take some time. I retired that same date but I submitted my papers at least a month prior. I've rec'd my cashed out leave and my first annuity. Your agency processes before sending to OPM. So I'd start with that agency and ask for process/status. |
| Call person who did his retirement paperwork. See if they have a number. |

That stink. My spouse retired and has no information. Luckily for us I am still a federal employee.

He should submit a SF 2809 to his agency or possibly to OPM depending on where his paperwork is in the process— they will accept it as long as its postmarked before the end of open season. Go look on reddit (subreddits for fednews, fedemployees and VERA/DRP) and you can find more info. Or google for OPM BAL 24-103. |
| Thank you!!! |
You’re welcome! Email might also be a good option. Good luck! |

This but HR should have sent him something on the steps so he should reach out to his former agency HR too. |
