Watch for a rash. It sounds like shingles. (Not a medical profession).

Not likely on both sides. It’s usually one side only.

Is your bra too tight? Gained weight but didn’t change bra?

not shingles, had that before and PP is correct its one side, its also not tender muscles like this, its surface itch

no my bra is not too tight - how could a bra make your torso painful?

anyone else maybe got a different suggestion?

I have had this from time to time. Idk. I just blame everything on getting old. Now my arm skin is old lady and tears like grandma’s.

Is the tenderness diffuse and are there any areas it’s worse? Like around lymph nodes?

Any redness, swelling, rash or fever?

Have you been more active than usual or doing new activities your body isn’t used to?

Also— sounds like the pain is only in your upper torso— does it get worse when you take a deep breath?

Have you started any new meds? I just started Necletol and it causes headaches and backaches, for example. How would you rate the pain 1-10?

I'm not a doctor but +1 I think Shingles is only on one side.

OP here, thanks for the answers and additional questions.

No fever, redness or rash, this is a tissue thing, so if I poke my side, all the way from the armpit to the waist there is tenderness.

No new meds, activities, no change with deep breathing.

Its also not constant, just on occasion.

I am wondering if it's the start of fibromyalgia and I am dreading that possibility.

Is there a squeezing sensation when it happens?

I think a visit to your PCP is in order, especially if you are concerned about fibromyalgia.
