Two Rockettes questions

Ok NYC travel vets.

- How crazy am I for considering going to NYC the week between Christmas and New York? Two families, 3-4 tweens and young teens between.

- What seats do you recommend for the Rockettes? We’ve never been… is third mezzanine too far/impossible to see?

It will be crazy but fun. It's been years since I've seen Xmas Rockettes, but that seems a bit far back. But, if that's all you can do, just do it.

You'll have a ball. The ice skating in the park is better/cheaper than RC.

Do not go see any show that high up, it is a waste. Did it once and never again.

We took our two young kids for a day or two right after Christmas a million years ago. I think they were 2 and 4? We had a blast. It was a fun time to be in the city!

Agree. I took my kids and mom in a wheelchair several years ago and we had so much fun. Going again next weekend (not seeing the Rocketts).

I got last minute discount tickets in the last balcony row once and enjoyed seeing it. Haven’t needed to go back.

The temperature was *real* hot sitting up high. It was winter and everyone had come in with coats. If they had lowered the temperature, anyone a little cold could have put their coat back on. Instead the hot temperature was miserable. I say miserable, but all things considered, glad I went and would go again even if it were the same.

I saw them once and that was enough. We had seats on the floor but I think the show can still be appreciated from far away since most of it is just a big chorus line and the impressive part is they're all in unison and there are so many dancers. I actually think the choreography is probably better appreciated from a distance.

I wouldn't go again tbh. It was fun but a little cheesy.

Re first question-- we've gone twice to NYC during this time and really enjoyed it.

It’s a really fun time to be in NYC. As for the Rockettes. I’ve seen them three times and had all different views including back balcony. It’s always better to be closer but far was fine too.

There’s better from above and there’s nosebleeds. First and second mezzanine seem to be popular.
