Low Dose Naltrexone

Anonymous
Has anyone tried this? My PCP recommended it as an alternative to GLP-1. I'm on my second week and I can't tell if I have more energy because of it or because I just have more to do because of the holiday. I'm also not losing weight and possibly gaining it!

No one? No one else is taking this super cheap medicine that is meant to solve all sorts of problems, help you lose weight, reduce inflammation and make you young forever? Just me?

Make sure to wear a med alert bracelet that shows you’re on it.

I’ve been taking it for 5 years for disease prevention because it does lower inflammation. I’ve never heard of it for weight loss and I certainly have not lost weight because of it. For some people with autoimmune issues, it has been a miracle drug with reducing pain and brain fog, etc.

My daughter takes it for autoimmune disease - not sure if it helps, because she presently is in the midst of a flare. But maybe it does.

I have been interested in trying it myself.

I take a Contrave which is a combo with Wellbutrin

I took it with Wellbutrin as an equivalent to Contrave (like PP). That combo didn't work for me after a year, so I started Wegovy and have had great success on that.

Is it working for you? I'm mostly interested in its anti-aging benefits (Inflammation leads to aging) but I didn't expect to gain weight!

I had never heard of it before my doctor mentioned it. Now I see it everywhere.

Taking Contrave after insurance stopped paying for MJ/Wegovy. Doesn’t help me lose weight, helps maintain.

Contrave is a combination of Wellbutrin and low dose naltrexone, but I've never heard of anyone prescribing just naltrexone.

Me again, I was on Wellbutrin for depression and lost 30lbs in a year without trying, so that part of it at least helps some people lose weight.

My kids and I have been on low dose 4.5mg for years now. It helps a lot with pain and inflammation which is why we started. I do not see it affecting our weight at all. We are all normal weight to begin with though

I tried it for six months for a nerve issue, and it did nothing for me. No benefits and no adverse effects, as far as I could tell.
