He is getting a larger present, but I'd like to get him some smaller stuff too and give ideas for the grandparents. So far I have Nike socks and a sampler set of cologne.

Boys need lip balm too.

Assorted gummy-type candy. Not sure why, but chocolate is out and gummy is in with this younger generation.

Mountain dew, canned cheese, some japanese items from the game store like blue ramen have been hits.

I always give toothbrushes, combs, but I know that's boring.

Does he use hair products? Mine likes an expensive pomade.

World Market is a great source for food stuff if he likes to cook. Lots of small/sample sized international ingredients to try.

If he’s into sports/outdoorsy anything, hand warmers or beanie with rechargeable light.

Small tools. Jewelry screwdrivers/eyeglass repair kits. Multi-tools and pocket knives (but these can't go on planes).

My older son likes Wasabi peas that come in a can. I put wrapped Andes Mints and Ghirardelli Peppermint Bark squares in stockings.

Funny mugs to use at home/stay in your kitchen.

A hanging travel toiletry organizer sold on Amazon. I have this one in red and my son has navy blue. Make sure to only get a color that is 100% nylon. The orange and gray version is partly a gross-feeling microsuede. I exchanged that for blue. Most colors are all nylon.

PP. Forgot...there are microwave dishes for cooking one brick of ramen. My younger son likes that (too much). An egg-cooking appliance is also convenient for hard-boiled eggs and runny soft eggs for eating with toast.

Silly T-shirts.

You could get gummy candy and stuff like that from the Korean supermarket (Hmart). They have some candy that kids that age love.

You could try some chili pouches so he just follows directions. My son would love to learn that. He also puts sweet chili sauce on everything.
