DD is panicking. Had a summer internship that went well but doesn't give return offers.
She is currently interning part-time at a good firm but heard they don't give many conversions to full-time as it's on an as-need basis. Hiring is down and doesn't look good. |
| Nope and same. Applied to 100+ jobs already, some interviews, no offers, lots of ghosting |
| Yes is working at internship job, received an offer in August. Lucky. |
| Yes. My DD just got an offer after many many interviews and internships every summer. |

My 2028 kid on the college quarter system (so home for 7 weeks) hasn't even been able to get a seasonal job. Applied for 60+ temporary help jobs and has a decent work history.
It's crazy. |

Yes. He has been interning at the company since sophomore year and received a written offer this month.
Info Systems/Cyber security major |
| Yes-received return offer/fixed income, Econ major |
| My guess is the kids who majored in something specific and pre professional - acctng finance cyber IT data cs marketing and did well in school are going to land a job easily. I think liberal arts kids are the ones who apply to 100 roles and don’t land easily just because their education is non specific to industry and they themselves may not yet be dialed into what they want to do as a first job. They will be fine. Just give them more time. |
