Tehran may have to be evacuated due to no water

This is a very bad situation. It is the result of drought, but also massive mismanagement of the water infrastructure. Tehran is a city of 10 million people.

Not my circus. Large cities in deserts is just asking for water shortages.

Terrible situation, and a preview of what’s to come for many more

Their government prioritized their nuclear program.

This is a growing disaster. And meanwhile Fairfax County wants to build a sidewalk in our local park, when we are all aware of the impact of disappearing green space and global warming.

This. It’s a warning to us but I can’t honestly say that I care much. They aren’t our friends.

Not much green space in Iran.

This is just the beginning. A few years ago either WaPo or NYt did an article projecting that within 50 years much of the Middle East (and parts of Africa and western hemisphere as well) would be unlivable for humans due to extreme heat. Literally unlivable at temperature where your brain just cooks. The idea that this won’t cause massive global instability that will affect all of us is insane. Millions of people arents just going to lie down in the dessert and die.

And it’s not like this isn’t gojng to happen here. About a decade ago a very knowledgeable friend estimated that places like Arizona have less than 50 years before they will have no water. Talk about a humanitarian crisis with relocating all those millions in Arizona.

Mexico City is also having massive water issues but they’ve really been trying to work on creative solutions for catching rain water and so forth. I don’t think it will be enough but maybe it will help a little.

I truly hate Musk and Bezos and all of them who seek to run into space as their next adventure but I honestly believe that within 50 yrs, most of earth will have a hard time supporting humans. I think those with resources will be looking elsewhere. I hate that we as a species will move forward to wreck another planet lol

Not caring about innocent people is pretty sociopathic, but it’s also stupid. What happens there will come here eventually. Everything is connected.

You should mention this to their government. It's not clear why the US is a checkbook for all these problems.

It isn’t sociopathic at all. In fact, it is very natural. We are meant to care for our family and community first, and most of DCUM can’t even manage that.

This.
I'd wager 60% of women here can't even manage a relationship and have become playground equipment for men or else crazy cat ladies.

40 years ago they were saying that we would be in a new ice age by now. They taught this in schools and everywhere.
