I don’t know MLSN1, but MLSN2 for sure. That ‘s what we have been told at our club (p2p MLSN1/2) in Chicago. |
Just to clarify a few things in this post that aren't accurate: yes, the Charleston and James Island NPL teams will now be MLSN2, but the Wake FC NPL teams will remain in NPL I suspect, as their MLSN2 team played in NAL and will switch to MLSN2. Wake FC will still have MLS Next tier 1 teams. The QCM, Triangle United teams (no clue about Tormenta) are adding their 2nd teams to MLSN2 but will also still have tier 1 teams. |
Whelp my Q4 14, top of the roster at our club on the second team, was just told she’ll be playing with a SY grouping of Q4 14s and other 15s next year as the top team an age group down. They’ll just play a year up next year to get a jump start on the new age groups and hopefully stay together after that. FWIW we’re at an all ECNL platform club. |
Boom! |
That’s the perfect age group for that situation. Most top pre ecnl u12 teams play up to get 11v11 experience. |
It’s going to be a crushing advantage for 2013 Q3/4 kids who play a year of 11/11 and repeat vs kids who have never played 11 a side next year. |
And possibly a step back in their development |
Why? Is there an advantage to playing more 11 v 11? |
I’m all for SY for my DC in ECNL. I fail to see why it’s important for MLSN to also go to BY? |
Yes…because you kid is playing in-house league…not ECNL |
Lol found the BY parent… |
No, the opposite. PP is pointing that out. Racing to 11aside is a rookie parent mistake. |
You’re a dolt. You know nothing about footie development. BY or SY aside, PP is right. |
BY crowds are desperate to hold on to any hope that MLSN will stay in BY since it is obvious ECNL will go to SY and possibly has a transition plan for 25/26. |
No, you have it backward ... If a kid plays 11v11 at a high level and moves to a team where a probably a good chunk of the team hasn't played it before the kid might have a "crushing advantage" and not develop as much as they would have otherwise because the competition and level is less. The biggest upside is an increase in confidence from any success. The potential downside is losing that edge because they'll get pulled down to the less experienced level. |
