_How are the world language classes at Blair?
_How many students per class? _How is the teaching and personality of the WL teachers? _Does your student need an outside school tutor to help them with the class? |
| All Spanish teachers are native speakers, I believe. And just like every other school, some are good, some are great, some are not so good. |
No, my three kids have had at least two Spanish teachers at Blair who were not native speakers. One of them was fine, the other was great. Generally the Spanish teachers have been pretty decent. Can't speak to other languages. |
| They have Spanish. What other language(s)? |
| French, Japanese, ASL |
|
Blair used to have Arabic - my son had 3 years of it before the teacher moved on and the program closed.
Spanish teachers are good - except for one non-native speaker who is openly racist. Like, write an email to the principal after back to school night racist. She is still teaching there. |
| My daughter had a French teacher who barely spoke French. Not sure he is still there |
What? |
My daughter had a French teacher who barely spoke French. Not sure he is still there. |
What do you mean by “back to school night racist”? What did she do |
Was he a sub? |
How is the Japanese teacher? I have heard great things about the ASL program. |
No he taught Spanish too (which he did speak). It was about 5 years ago. A wasted year fye French kids! |
My kid had this teacher as well. He was self admitedly "not strong" in French. |
|
I had an Arabic teacher there years ago the first year they had it. This was 2007: Ms. darwish. I still somehow remember the alphabet and letters though all these years later even though I don’t speak it.it’s like cursive I guess. It just stays.
