This is the end of Schumer’s career.
The war in Gaza forced Schumer to make a choice. Be complicit in Israel’s criminal slaughter or seek a real future for the region. He chose Israel. That decision alone separated him from thousands of New Yorkers and the future. When the check from AIPAC is more valuable than endorsing your party's chosen candidate, it's time to GO. |
No. Dems and their establishment leadership openly and actively did everything in their power to defeat Mamdani. They are currently working overtime to clear the field for Shapiro. Old Schumer will be fine. AIPAC, Trump and republicans love Schumer. The HRC wing will continue to control the dems. Wish it was not so but it is reality. |

It is absolutley disgusting that the leader of a party did not endorse the candidate chosen by his party.
Who does Schumer think he is? NO KINGS |

Chuck Schumer is definitely going to retire and not run for re-election in 2028. As of now, he would absolutely lose his seat to AOC.
The DNC would HATE that, so they have a few years to groom and fund a centrist, whom Schumer would step down and promptly endorse. |
Good riddance. At long last, there will be a changing of the guard. I for one am SO excited to see it. May this be an end to zionism (and boomers) running our politics. |
| I just don't care about Chuck Schumer one way or the other. I know, I know, why did I bother commenting here if I don't care? At this point I think he's just there to absorb hate from the other party then ride off into the sunset, just like Mitch McConnell is about to do. |
+1. I’ve historically been a moderate Democrat, but Israel’s conduct in Gaza and the response in this country to people calling the Israeli government out for what it is has really opened my eyes. The institutional rot in the party on this issue starts at the top down. I’m a NYC voter and prefer most moderate Dem policy positions but voted for Mamdani because of this. And I will vote for AOC in the primary. |

Schumer is ok but he's too cozy with his rich donors. He made Dems drop closing the "carried interest" loophole from their 2022 spending bill. It's not ok that hedge fund millionaires/billionaires get to have lots of income that isn't subject to taxation.
Granted this is something that Republicans worked hard to save, but what I appreciate about these new gen democrats (Mamdani, AOC) is that they legitimately do seem to want to upset the status quo and make sure rich people are paying their fair share of taxes/don't hide their assets. |
Good for you! I'm a VA voter so we will likely never have anyone other than a complete centrist/teetering on R Dem running our state. Would love to see the AOC/Mamdani flavor in VA. Sadly, we are not of that stripe. |

They are trying to groom Richie Torres for Schumer's seat.
But I think that apple has already been spoiled. |
| Talk about lacking any self-respect. They may have something on him. |
I think anyone groomed by Dems consultant class will be rejected. The consultant class is out of touch with reality and the Democratic base. |
I'm a moderate, but an AOC vs. Richie Torres primary would be an absolute whalloping. I'm not the biggest AOC fan but I can read the room. |
I would uproot my life to buy a home in NY and relocate there, just to have a say in sending Richie Torres into oblivion. F that guy with an emphatic 7 - 8,000 underscores … |
Yes. The democratic base is now socialists. Should rename the party to the Socialist Party. |
