We eat lunch and there are only 7 of us, so no appetizers except we have the pot of butternut squash soup out first and mugs/spoons. Everything made from scratch, including the rolls

dressing (sausage and apple)
mashed potatoes
gravy
rolls
cranberry sauce
creamed onions (for the one weird grandpa)

My niece will likely bring some apps— she is into the charcuterie board trend.

Dinner, served around 1:30, will be
Turkey
Ham
Stuffing
Scalloped oysters
Sweet potato and apple casserole
Green bean casserole
Corn
Salad
Applesauce
Gravy
Rolls

Desserts:
Pumpkin pie

These are all long time family favorites. I think I’m the third generation of women making these dishes for Thanksgiving, now teaching the fourth generation (including the boys, finally, I’m happy say) how to make them.

Intriguing. Sounds very mid-20th century is the best and worst way at the same time.

Hadn’t even thought about apps: cheese and fruit and crackers, probably. Sparkling water, red and white wine, and beer (like yuengling).

Dinner will be fairly simple: turkey (16 pounds), mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce (canned), rolls, collard/turnip greens, sweet potato casserole with roasted pecans and goat cheese crumbles, and winter salad (maybe arugula with pomegranate and feta). Pumpkin pie and homemade whipped cream for dessert.

It’s just my nuclear family (me and DH and our three kids) and my parents.

Love Thanksgiving!
