Submitting all scores to Georgetown

Anonymous
This guy on this podcast The Game says you dont really have to submit all test scores, even though Georgetown clearly says to. He basically says you dont have to be all "legal beagle" "letter of the law" about this.

Well Georgetown does tell you to do this. And while I guess some people refuse to follow the rules, it's all about the type of person you want your child to be and the type of morals you want to instill.

he very clearly is telling people to cheat. "your testing history is your own"

I mean, my kid would say his Spanish grade is also his own, but that doesnt mean he can suppress it when colleges say they want the full transcript.

From what I know, Georgetown wants all SAT scores from all the tests taken. For AP exams they say it is optional but if you submit, it must be a official score report. They want students to be open and honest.

But isn't that the point of being at GU? They are going to teach teen Larlo morals? Why GU? Larlo should respond: so the university can teach me morals since I didn't submit all test results.

I think this is the point OP is making. GU wants all test scores, they say so. This independent college advisor is saying, eh, do what is best for you - even if it's against the application rules. And he's saying it publicly.

Yes and some "experts" suggest students not include their parent's JD as highest degree on common app. PhD ok, JD not so?

100% incorrect. Georgetown is saying, here are our morals, our values, our mission. If you will be a good match for our school, apply. This is why every Why Us? essay is also a Why You? essay.

It's def not a "I'm a cheat and a liar and I could use some moral guidance". No. If you think it is, go ahead and write that on the applications.

are those experts are just cheating parents. Because any box that is required on the common app is required to be filled out TRUTHFULLY. You attest to that at the end, before submitting it.

Yes, The Game guy also suggests strategically not disclosing the parent’s job in certain instances.

I just talked to a parent yesterday that said they were only sending the top 2 SAT scores to Georgetown and not sending the ACT at all. Kid had taken both. Super common.

my kid said, I assume all this stuff will be disclosed in a public way in the next 10 years via hackers. for most people, it won't matter. for some, it will. and your friends and entire social network will know.

The PP should have added a sarcastic alert.
