UBER delivery on bicycle? Is this some sort of UBER humor? Not funny to my family.

Anonymous
We submitted a large order of over 30+ plates for a large family gathering only to be notified by UBER that the delivery was to be made on a bicycle.

My elderly family members immediately became worried about such a proposition.

I texted the person delivering several times but received no response.

My elderly family members became increasingly worried.

Finally the delivery driver answered and stated they were not on a bicycle.

Why does UBER feel the need to give out false information?

One of my elderly family members could have suffered a medical emergency due to the stress of this situation.

They probably normally deliver by bicycle and had a car that day and didn't update it. I doubt it was intentional.

For such a large order with high stress guests, why would you leave it to Uber? I hope you tipped really well!

Why did you even involve the elderly family members in this transaction?

Uber is full of scammy situations like men driving on their girlfriend’s license or claiming to be on a bike when they have a car not associated with Uber. It’s because they can’t meet Uber’s requirements for some aspect (valid license, insurance, etc.)

This cannot be a real post. If it is, you all have serious issues.

Sometimes it comes by bike. It can be faster in a city. Sometimes delivery people sign up as bike delivery so they don't have to provide a driver license but are really in cars. That's probably what happened to you and it's more dangerous for everyone than a bike delivery. Your family sounds very high strung and not very rational. Why would Uber be playing a joke on you?

This is probably the strangest post I've seen on her in awhile. How is it possible to be this high strung? It must be an absolutely brutal way to live.

Why share those details with such fragile people then, OP? Were you born stupid or dropped on your head as a baby?

Who knows, maybe the future is rides on bikes or scooters. Get ready. If the delivery person wants to deliver on a bike, why does it matter as long as your items make it to you in good condition.

I once saw a video of a clown juggling bowling pins while sitting on a unicycle. So I guess anything is possible on 2 wheel bicycle. That includes stacking 30 plates on top of each other while riding on a bicycle in traffic.

You sound nuts. A medical emergency because Uber said bike vs car? I hope you don't use Amazon, their constant bait and switch will kill you.

Agreed. If Uber delivery is going to potentially give your relative a medical emergency, they need to be in the hospital because it sounds like a light breeze could give them a medical emergency.

We frequently get deliveries that are supposed to be by bicycle but come by car. I assume it has to do with having a license/insurance. Also it allows the driver to not be dispatched to far away from an area with a lot of restaurants so they can get more deliveries. I really dislike actual bicycle delivery in the winter because the food always comes cold. The flimsy insulated bag does nothing.

But no one should be suffering a medical emergency due to their uber delivery - that's strange.

WTF are you talking about? What was stressful for Granny? Her beef stroganoff would be a little cold?
