| What are the best places to get a men's suit now-a-day and stay around $500 including tailoring if necessary? Thanks |
| Let him handle it. |
| Macy’s has a decent selection of suits in that price range. |
It's my money. |
| Macy’s is a good suggestion. Nordstrom Rack sometimes has good options and they have a tailor (call to find out when). I tried Jos A Bank for my son and the price was ok but the styles were baggy and too old. |
| Men’s Warehouse. |
Unless the kid has had experience buying suits before, I disagree with this approach. My son would have no idea. He'd either come home with something on either one extreme or the other. To the OP, I believe my husband & son got his first suit at Nordstrom during the anniversary sale, so Nordstrom Rack may be a good option. They didn't like what Jos A Bank had (I don't remember why). |
Were you raised by wolves? If an adult friend asked you for a suggestion on where to find a reasonably priced suit, you'd offer up an opinion, no reason why you wouldn't give the same courtesy to your adult child. |
| Nordstrom Rack. |
Macy’s or Men’s Warehouse. |

J.Crew?
Zara? Banana Republic? |
| Try JCrew - some men’s suiting is 30% off right now |

Men's Wearhouse is fast and has all price ranges. They measure you on the spot and tailor it, ready for pick-up in about a week.
DH even had them measure and custom make a dress shirt. It was cheaper than the shirts off the rack. They usually have several salesmen roaming the floor to help you pick out a suit, even match ties to shirts. Some females too, but they all know their stuff. Blue suits really seem to be popular right now with light cordovan shoes. I was in a courthouse recently and there were 6 lawyers - every one of them had a blue suit on. I watched ESPN with 5 analyzers - again all 5 were wearing some shade of a blue suit. Not a grey, black or tan suit to be seen. |
| slim young men love the suits at j crew. |
| Thank you for all the suggestions! |
