| What does your teen boy do on weekends? Getting my ds off old screens is a challenge. I wouldn’t even mind it if he was gaming with friends. He just wants to be on screens in a non-social way |
| He and his buddies do movie nights and game nights . . . mostly at our place, which is fine but is kind of getting old. |
| Goes out to eat, goes to others houses and hangs out, drives around with friends. |
DP. Yeah...my teen stepsons don't do this. They just shut themselves in their rooms and go on screens. Sometimes they are doing stuff on screens with friends, I think. it seems so unhealthy. they don't socialize in person except in school. neither of them saw any friends in person over the summer. |
All summer?! That is heartbreaking. Sounds like depression. If they are teens, did they work summer jobs? |
Yikes. I think by the time a teen gets to this point there is no road back really. Too hard to unravel. |
| Travel sports. |

I have 2 close in age, some evenings with friends, some together, some whole family.
During the days—a giga ton of homework, one takes an art class and volunteers at a museum, one is guitar obsessed and plays for hours, random academic or music competitions, they go to the gym, and watch college FB, NFL, or F1, shopping, reading, some phone time but not much. |
| Sports—travel and rec. he also does some video games, homework, mowing the lawn/helping with yard work. We don’t allow You Tube or video games during the school week so are a little more lenient on the weekends. |
| Sports, mall, movies, hang out at a friends house. |
| Homework |
NP. How old are they? My son and his friends were a lot like that before 16. Now they are seniors and some of his friends have graduated but here, attending college locally. When they all started driving they go out a lot more. All have part time jobs too but didn’t until they were older teens. They are 17 and 18 now. Yesterday they went out to eat earlier in the day and drove around somewhere in the evening. They all met up some place and hung out a while, or so he said. He was home around 11. He still spent plenty of time on video games during the day. He didn’t have to work yesterday. |
| Meet with friends and kick a soccer ball around a field. |
| No girlfriend? |
| A job can do wonders. Many sports have great programs for teen referees. |
