Cigna Health Insurance?

DHs employer is switching from United Healthcare to Cigna. Curious of folks experiences with Cigna.

TIA

They’re fine. UHC is the most evil so it can’t get any worse.

Cigna is far better than UHC.

We made same change two years ago. Minimal difference for us.

Cigna's PT benefit has always been very generous and not onerous, and now they will only allow 5 visits before authorization is necessary.

We can’t answer this question because insurance companies have different plans.

+1. Their plans differ a lot. I have Cigna and it used to be fine but their customer service got worse 2 years ago (claims processing that makes no sense). If you google Cigna news you’ll see that they’ve been sued for using AI improperly to process claims.

You can’t do worse than UHC.

We made that change. Cigna is fine but some things cost more

Any other US health insurance is far better than UHC.

We have it.

Customer Service is worthless, though.
Better than UHC

I hate Cigna. I went from BCBS to them. They are terrible. They don’t want to pay for necessary tests or services.

It of course depends on what his employer negotiated with Cigna, but I've been very pleased with both plans I've had under two different employers.

Had UHC Cigna and Kaiser. All gave their pros and cons but UHC is def a disaster. I am in Recruiting and I have people who will not interview if we had UHC! Kaiser is prob my fave but Cigna is doable.

Let's face it, all of them suck because it's for profit. The best thing about Cigna is PT and worst is they are all over you for Rx. My kid is on 100mg of a med and prefers taking 2 50mg as they are smaller and easier to swallow and because we're still trying to figure out mental health wise what the moving forward stable dose will be.. well they quashed that right away. 100mg means 100mg - xtra pills be damned! Same applies to Rx - they just are very miserly when it comes to meds - brands, dose, etc

We've had both and I agree.
