Seeking hair stylist for a dark brunette

Anonymous
Looking for someone who will do a very dark, cool-toned brunette but not black. Also looking for a great cut. Preferably in the NoVa area. Thanks for any recommendations!

Are you looking for a colorist?

Same question as PP have you had an issue with people cutting your brunette hair before? Never had that issue before. Are you looking for a color or style, etc.

OP here - I thought this was pretty clear?
"Looking for someone who will do a very dark, cool-toned brunette but not black." Meaning, a colorist. And someone who will also give me a good cut.

A hair stylist is not a colorist, which is why your title and subsequent question were confusing.

It's pretty clear when she said "someone who will DO..." she meant, "someone who can do this color." She was asking for someone who would do a cut and color which is presumably why she said stylist instead of colorist.

I think some of you are being a bit pedantic here.

Exactly this. DCUM can be so great… when people like PP just keep their ridiculous literalism to themselves.

Do you have a particular reason why you are seeking something so specific? Like have you had issues in the past with your hair picking up red tones? I made myself crazy looking for a color as you could keep my hair, dark brown without pulling any red toes, and it turns out I need to stick to a Demi permanent color.

I need a color that is deposit only or else I will start to get red toe the second the sun touches my hair

DP but a lot of stylists focus on blonding, and my hair always ends up lighter than I want it to, so I 100% get what OP is looking for.

I don't understand who these psychos are who don't understand what you are asking for. The vast majority of us get our hair cut and colored by the same person.

OP - I love Vanessa at Maude in Herndon, but that might be too far for you.

Even Demi will pull red/brassy. This will happen no matter what. I didn’t think mine did either, until I say some photos of myself in bright sunlight. While it isn’t as noticeable as a permanent color, it is still more brassy than my natural brown

Hmm... it's important to be clear from the get-go, otherwise people get annoyed. I've seen it on multiple threads. It's just a law of message boards. Get used to it.

Thank you, PP! I appreciate this suggestion and Herndon is perfect.
