We bring our kids to Infinite Performance Training if you are looking for a program built for the student-athlete training. They are located in the Gainesville / Haymarket area (Off the 66) about 30 minute drive from Springfield. https://infinite-pt.com/

imo, more clubs should have programs like this. a lot of teams practice 4x a week, and people are always tired and get injured. so why not make one day of practice for strength+injury prevention and video review? then the teams actually gain game iq as well and make better use of their (and parents!) time.

Do you actually think anything SYC does is successful for player development?

They are the Al Davis Raiders. They win baby! Your player with pro potential at U12 with cherish their Jefferson Cup and MLS Next Championships while watching the other “loser” U12’s on the tele breaking into the European 1st teams in their 20’s.

+1 to both these

They are more expensive though, but good. D1 is fitness and speed/ agility, Capstone can incorporate soccer drills too.

We are doing this now, I'd skip this. (We are not on a team and signed up as an individual.) They are minimal on strength training at the U8-U11 age group and too many kids/ minimum wage trainers who are not too motivating.

They do more strength for some of the older age groups though. The price point is the best though.

OP What are do you live in? Considering traffic is terrible here, not all these recommendations will make any sense for you guys to try.

What age is this recommended? Or what age did your child start?

Arlington may still have the ECNL teams train at Capstone once a week, It was included in fees but considered optional, very few players ever went. You can lift at home. Getting stronger is getting stronger. You don't need someone telling you it's sport specific and, when you strength train, strength train, you don't need soccer drills in between. Youth strength training is all about....sprint, throw/slam/jump, squat/lunge, chest press, hinge, row, pull down, press up, core/carry and then be done. Do two tri sets. 3x8-12 each exercise. 45 minutes. an hour with the warm up and sprints. Start at any age. Strength training do not stunt growth.

Find private trainer that can work with your kids and schedule. It’s much more effective in teaching them how to do things properly with correct foams and manage their workload each week and manage injury if any.

Small group works if the instructions are good.
