| We have nothing under two pages with comments/feedback to submit. There is one essay with a grade but no feedback. Can you submit more pages? |
|
It says "one or two pages is sufficient" which we read to mean that any paper of at least 1 page is fine, not that it can only be 1 or 2 pages. My kid's favorite piece is longer, so we are planning to send that.
Obviously, my kid hasn't gotten in, so I could be wrong. |
| My kid only has 5 plus pages. Not expecting to get in but atleast we should try following the guidelines. Not sure what we will do. |
|
My kid submitted a page & 1/2.
Was WL’d RD. Didn’t SCEA |

They don’t have time to read a long one.
It’s best to always follow an app’s instructions. |
How long is favorite piece? I wouldn’t submit anything over 4 pages. They don’t want to take the time to read lengthy pieces. |
The apps instructions don’t say “only 1 or 2 pages”. |
| Does it have to be something for school? Or can it be feedback from other teaching adults in the child's life? |
| If it is this year, you can ask the teacher to go through and make comments for this purpose |
| If it says 1 or 2, then it is 1 or 2, folks. That's it. Stop creating more work for the AOs!!!!!!!!!!! |
It has to be from school. They are looking for insight into how rigorous the grading is, as a tool to help them put their grades in context. |
It doesn't say it's 1 or 2. I'm pretty sure that Princeton AO's are smart enough to be able to read the first page or two of a longer piece and have an understanding of the student's writing and the teacher's grading. Sending a longer paper doesn't force the AO to read the whole paper. |
| They would probably just read the feedback from the teacher. |
| I think they’re mostly interested in the grading/comments. |
Because they don’t refer to it as a writing sample, they refer to it as a graded paper. |
