PVS annexing VSI territory...

Anybody else got their popcorn out to see if PVS is successful in annexing Loudoun and Prince William counties and the city of Manassas from Virginia Swimming this weekend?

The 3 county rec pools in Loudoun are actually not good meet pools and Chinn and Colgan HS in Prince William are only ok so I'm not sure how much this is going to help if it passes.

I don’t think the issue is whether they are good pools, it is the fact that PVS has been using those pools for meets for quite a while. Claude Moore and Audrey Moore are routinely sites of the PVS Opens. Colgan HS is used for the November Open and some PVS clubs use it to host their own meets. Freedom Center in PWC is also used to host PVS meets. I think VA swimming wants extra money from PVS for hosting meets in “their” territory. Most of this is driven by NCAP and the fact that it has 2 large sites (NCAP Loudoun and NCAP West) operating out of these counties.

idk about the term annexing, but PVS and Virginia Swimming want to have an overlapping LSC structure.

Yes, PVS and VA swimming have been negotiating over this for quite a while. I don’t know whether they have come to an agreement, but it appears they may have if it is up for a vote.

Note: Audrey Moore is in Fairfax County. And would not be impacted by VA LSC.

This seems to be the agreement .. otherwise why bring it to a vote ...

"Any pool within the boundaries of Loudoun County, Prince William County, and the city of Manassas in the Commonwealth of Virginia shall be available for the use of the Potomac Valley Swimming and Virginia Swimming LSCs and their respective member clubs, and both LSCs may sanction swimming events in these pools under their own rules and regulations."

Thanks for the link!

I wonder what they needed to clarify for this item: To clarify technical swimsuit restrictions for 12 & Under athletes.
