Pinto for Mayor?

Anonymous
Contra some of the wokies hopes to have JLG or someone else run, I've recently heard a rumor that Brooke Pinto is considering running for mayor. I think it's about time we had an elected white mayor in this city, and her pro-business, tough-on-crime approach will help keep scrutiny from House Republicans off our backs. She's also been pretty responsive, coming out to our Dupont Circle Citizens Association meetings to discuss different local issues. Thoughts?

I would report this for racism but it’s just so stupid

What's so racist about it? We're 40% of the population here but have made up 0% of its top leadership over the last 50 years. Isn't that, to put it in DEI terms, not equitable?

Agreed. I'd also be in favor of having a Latino mayor at some point.

She would have less than zero chance in a citywide race.

What the hell happened to the Georgetown - Rosslyn Gondola she promised? Seven years later, the site where the Georgetown station is supposed to be is a parking lot.

That would be DDOT, not Pinto. And the FAA had issues with the cables needed to operate the gondola.

I am a 30 plus white resident of dc and imo the only mayor we've had in recent memory who wasn't putting the interests of wards 1, 2 and 3 over the others was Grey - I think he did a great job representing the entire city. Why would pinto's ethnic heritage be relevant in her performance as mayor? this is such a bizarre take it has to be a joke

Pinto just voted to hamstring DC's finance for the next 25 years so I am not sure she has the brains to run the town.

Man I would love to see Pinto as mayor. No more pandering, no more excuses for bad behavior. Just competency.

Racist much? But Kevin Donahue the City Administrator is brilliant and the only person who is competent enough to be Mayor if Bowser does not run.

Yeah, no amount of competence will overcome that idiocy.

Kevin Donahue is NOT brilliant. There is NOTHING about that guy that is brilliant. He is average at best.

He has the personality of a wet noodle.
