I went to a medspa for a consult with an PA and they recommended BBL + Moxi. They do Halo at the office, too.
My research says Moxi is better for prevention of future issues, rather than reversing things like wrinkles, discoloration, large pores. I think I’d rather go with one Halo treatment instead of the multiple Moxi sessions they quoted. Have you done both? What did you think after each or which did you like better? I realize Halo is ablative and stronger, with corresponding downtime. |

I have done Halo and not moxi. I have also done standard BBL. These were at a med spa with a very involved medical doctor supervising.
I switched medical derms and consulted with their aesthetician. She cut the cost of my skin care routine in half and said that I really at this point needed CO2. Prepared for an upsell, I asked about the cost and it's half of what the med spa charged me for Halo. I must have looked stunned, and she kind of flatly said they are not a retail operation on the whole and that this is a price point that makes them money but does not gauge their patients. I booked. |
Is this local? Would love the recommendation. |
| I agree with the above advice, just get a CO2! I was disappointed after my Halo treatment. |
Bucks County, PA if it would help anyone. |
| Go for the BBL + Halo combo. Totally worth it. Halo is more intense than Moxi but also more expensive I think. I paid $2,300 for the combo above in DC metro area. |
| Halo is a dumbed down version of Fractional CO2, basically made so nurses could do it. Same downtime with half the results. I used to do moxi until i went to a new cosmetic derm and learned that moxi is the same of half the 'fraxel dual' treatment, rebranded by the same people that came up with the BBL (which is the same exact thing as an IPL). I just do an IPL and Fraxel Dual every year now and save about $2000 a year compared to the place that was doing Halo, BBL, and Moxi every year. |
Is IPL better than BBL? Where do you go? |
I think what they are saying is that IPL is the same thing as BBL. |
Huh?? This is totally false. When you say fractional CO2 laser I assume you are referring to Fraxel, which is weaker than Halo. |
No, Fraxel is not fractional CO2. Fraxel doesn't burn any skin away like Fractional CO2. I've had Fractional CO2, Fraxel, and Halo. Fractional CO2 was by far the most effective for a single treatment. Halo was similar downtime to Fractional CO2 without nearly the improvement. Fraxel is very limited downtime compared to both of those and honestly produced the same effect as Halo, but with just a couple days of redness and swelling (no flaking/crusting). |
At this age I agree with those suggesting go the full enchilada and get CO2. I am very happy with Moxi at 40. My mom was thrilled with CO2 at 60. |
