Nostalgia recipe

In the 1970s my mom made something called pumpkin delight. It was a recipe that was going around with her friends at the time. It had a graham cracker crust and a filling that had pumpkin, spices, and something else--I don't know if it was cool whip, melted marshmallow, softened ice cream, regular whipped cream, some combo of these things, but it was soooo good. She'd refrigerate it, I think sometimes freeze it. It had a much lighter taste than a pumpkin pie. I've never been able to duplicate it and wonder if anyone might know the original recipe.

Every so often some new dish would go around her circle of friends. I have an idea these probably showed up in a magazine like Good Housekeeping or on the back of the can/package for some ingredient as a manufacturer's marketing pitch, and then maybe get preserved by someone putting it in a church cookbook.

I think it was Cool Whip.
Look for the old Betty Crocker cookbooks.

Maybe cool whip and cream cheese?

Is this it?

It sounds similar to something my mom made in the 1980s and 1990s called lemon delight, except it had lemon pudding and walnuts.

Yes, it’s a can of pumpkin pie pumpkin, a tub of cool whip, and a block of softened cream cheese. You whip it all up and serve it with gingersnaps!

What my mom made only had one layer and graham cracker crust, no pecans, but I came across that one when I was looking on the internet.
But I found another on a subreddit for old recipes where you use softened vanilla ice cream, spices, sugar optional, and then freeze it, so that might be the one.

My mom made something called cherry delight that had cool whip and sweetened condensed milk in it and I loved it. Oh, the 90s ...

I remember this, but with a jar of apricot jam instead of pumpkin.

FYI for people avoiding cool whip, you can sub stabilized whip cream in most of those recipes. Just whipped cream with a tiny bit of powdeeed sugar and a little bit of unflavored gelatin dissolved in warm water. The gelatin keeps the cream from separating. Only downside is that it’s not kosher or vegetarian.
I bet a graham cracker pie crush filled with pumpkin can mixed with cream cheese and stabilized whip cream and sweetened condensed milk and some spices would be totally delicious.
