Moved to a new neighborhood full of married people

Anonymous
I just moved to a new neighborhood where most people are married. I am recently divorced. How should I go about introducing myself to my neighbors? I'll admit my ex wife spoiled me as she took the lead introducing us to people etc. I have my kids every weekend. I guess once they establish friends perhaps I can then meet the parents. I was also thinking perhaps inviting the neighbor closest yo watch football. Any ideas? I am 45. Its a great neighborhood with a sense of community and I just don't know how to best integrate as a divorced guy.

45 and recently divorced. They will be knocking on your door with homemade cookies. . .

Host a BBQ to meet people. Set out a tv to watch football.

The good news is since you are a guy the other husbands are not going to feel "threatened" by you. If you were a newly divorced 45 years old woman who is attractive oh boy haha the wives will immediately see you as a "threat".

Do yard work on a weekend morning and wave at people as they go by.

OP here. This is an option I had in mind as well. I guess in this case I should just invite probably the 3 neighbors around me. I have a neighbor on the left, the right, and back.

Get a cute well behaved dog and start walking it around. It’s also a great chick magnet.

A cat is a "chick magnet" lol. One my date from hinge actually told me..we were talking about pets and she suggested I get a cat and it would be a bonus with the ladies.

None of my women friends care for cats. We all have dogs though.

OP get a dog. I was never a pet person but I didn't want to be alone. So I got a dog. I love my dog.

Introduce yourself to the husbands. Unless the wives introduce themselves first, I wouldn't make the first move.

I think though you will be more welcome as a single man than if you were a single women..Some married women are unnecessarily paranoid about single women living next door to them.

This. As soon as attractive women divorced in our neighborhood they suddenly weren't invited to things.
