Guidelines on bare legs and season?

Anonymous
Is there some point during the year where it's no longer ok to do bare legs beneath a skirt or a dress and tights or pantyhose are required? I'm thinking along the lines of past a certain point when it gets cold -- do people still do bare legs if you want a nude look, or is it not appropriate (or just look stupid)? Does it matter if it's an office environment (setting aside the office's own policy about hose) or evening?

I go bare all year - at work. Formal events, I'll do the PH in black.

I will do tights on occasion with boots, but since I wear mostly boots, I don't really need hose. Plus, it's not 1960.

How do you keep your feet from sweating and ruining shoes?? That is my issue.

I never, ever wear hose. I'm bare legged all year (I'm not super pasty so can do that). I do tights, though.
I personally think hose . . . you're dating yourself by wearing them. And they aren't flattering.

As for my feet sweating, they don't really. I mean, I'm sure they sweat. But, I don't have stinky feet issues. Just lucky there.

Bare legs.

Bare legs look ridiculous in the middle of the winter! At least buy yourself a pair of tights for God's sake.

You can see age differences coming out

I don't think they look ridic, but I would not be able to do it every day for work - I would just get too cold after awhile!

What's the deal with trouser socks? Are they still ok for pants? I was looking for some the other day and had a hard time finding them, so I thought maybe they were no longer in style. They seem like a basic to me.

OK not the PP but for those of us over 50 that don't feel or "hopefully" look over 50 you can see the conundrum. I hate hose, love the bare leg but had to tell my over 70 mother that her short shorts were not cool!

To anything that goes to the extreme to "keep up with the fashion" is ridiculous (i.e. not wearing something on your legs when it's 4 degrees outside). I don't care what you say, but there is absolutely no way that you can stay warm wearing nothing under a skirt in that kind of weather. I also think that it's a ridiculous look when I see a woman walking to metro in flip flops exposing her bare legs while wearing a coat, hat and a scarf to keep warm. Neither fashionable or attractive.

I think for Fall it's ok to have bare legs, but just depends on the temperature. Anything after mid November and you need some tights or pantyhose.

Pantyhose do not do shit to keep your legs warm, so that's not an argument.
