On beach in the Bahamas by two boys.
Amid all that's going on in the US here is something to make you feel good. https://scoop.upworthy.com/14-year-old-tossed-a-message-in-a-bottle-into-the-sea-in-1976-nearly-50-years-later-he-received-the-call-ex2 |
Summarise? |
Meh |
Love this. I did the same thing in 1985 and still waiting for my bottle to turn up somewhere. Maybe there is hope... |
The summary is in the subject line and the first post. What the finder wrote about it is really sweet. |
I'm sick to death of these entitled lazy azzes. |
I hope so. Wouldn't that be a wonderful surprise to share with your children! |
Thanks for posting the story OP. I was the same age in 1976 and also took oceanography. Brings back so many memories. |
Someone littered in the ocean 49 years ago and I’m supposed to feel better about the world? I’m supposed to forget that we have a country filled with violent maga extremists gunning for us? |
I'd like to see that bottle.
Seriously doubt it lasted that long with a cork in it exposed to the sun and salt water for decades. It would have rotted and water gotten in it. |
Checked video. Metal screwcap lid. Didn't look corroded at all. Doubt unless it was buried in a dry spot at a beach. |
“KISS Rules!!” |
I read this article. A little bummer though because the sender did not remember sending it! |
My sister and I found a message in a bottle on the beach in Bermuda when we were kids. The guys who wrote it was a merchant marine and he was looking for a girlfriend. Sadly, neither my sister or I fit the bill, since we were 11 and 13. |
But it would have been fun to write to him just to say "we found your note in a bottle but we're too young." |
