Kid microwaved my iPhone

Anonymous
It seems to be working perfectly fine minus the Bluetooth. Bluetooth can still connect, but it has to be within inches of device. Even holding the phone next to my earbuds is spotty.

Is there a way to just fix the Bluetooth or do I need to replace the whole thing?

Who puts a phone in the microwave?

You should have applecare

What kind of heathens are you raising? The kid is clearly old enough to know how to operate a microwave.

You need to supervise your kids and put the microwave out of reach.

Just curious; how’s your microwave?

That was my thought. Wouldn't the metal in the phone have caused sparks?

Interesting scientific experiment. Possibly a new weapon - don't a lot of drones operate on bluetooth?

It’s ok! Was on there 2 seconds before her two brain cells rubbed together.

To answer…Like many of you I don’t have a house phone and they were using it to talk to their friend. I was giving them privacy by being on the other end of the house. There was a big conversation about safety and how dangerous it was.

Will check out AppleCare that’s a good suggestion.

A curious one that doesn’t have as much common sense as I thought they had.

I still don’t know why they did it, but I suspect YouTube. You can judge me for that too. I was appalled. That’s sad. I think we’ve all done things so we’re not the smartest when we were kids. Thankfully, she didn’t get hurt and nothing suffered, minus my phone.

Modern microwaves are fairly tolerant of metal. You might blow a fuse in the microwave, but it's rare. People use microwaves as smelters.

What model iPhone? Some have separate Bluetooth modules and replacing that module shouldn't be too expensive.
