| Should I go with a lawyer that handles everything including the auto damage claim and the personal injury claim? Or should I go with one that only practices personal injury? I stopped at the light and no police were came out because it wasn't deemed an emergency from when I called. But my car definitely is not drivable and at that moment I did not know it. I took a bunch of pictures. |
| This is in Virginia. Any recommendations for lawyers are welcome to |
| Good recommendations please. I'm currently working with another lawsuit against a doctor for malpractice |
| You file with their insurance. If you have no medical bills why do you need an attorney |
I have medical bills |
You can compile them and send them as well. Contact their insurer for instructions. |
You talk to the car insurance. |
|
Inform your insurance, even though it’s not your fault, and have them help facilitate claim. If all your repairs and medical claims go through, not sure you need lawyer.
Why do you feel you need to jump right to lawyer? |
|
What injury did you sustain? Did you go to the ER? Has the car been deemed totaled?
Nothing you have said so far has suggested you need a lawyer. If you go that way in more simple cases like what yours sounds like, you will have to pay the lawyer 33% of any settlement. Do you have the other person’s insurance? Did they accept responsibility? You are much better off just going through insurance and working with them. |
What is the injury? |
The accident left her feeling greedy. |
|
No need to go after them for medical bills. Your health insurance company will do that.
Like the others, I don't see any reason you would need an attorney here. |
|
You should have waited for the police to come write a ticket.
This all sounds shady, like those people who get rear ended on purposs. If the accident waa so minor that the police woildnt come, and you drove your car away, how are you injured? |
|
What makes you think you need a lawyer? Is something complicated that you haven’t mentioned?
In general, car accidents do not need lawyers. The insurance companies will determine fault and whichever party is at fault will pay any car damage and medical bills. It’s very formulaic. |
| I was rear ended the other day, just handled it through insurance. If you were injured you should have called the police and done a report. |
