I have three high schoolers and I feel like we are constantly dealing colds and viruses - worse than when they were little. Stuff seems to spread though teens like wild fire.
Any advice on dealing with this - supplements or things to do to help? I’m so sick of this (literally) |

Good diet
Washing hands Sleep That’s about all you can do. I don’t know if it truly helps, but I always take these during cold & flu season and I tend to get hit with viruses less often and less hard than DH and DS: https://naturesway.com/products/sambucus-original-lozenges?variant=43405119553750 |

Yes, we’ve already got HFM going through our kids’ school!
What has helped mine? Sleep Vitamin C and D daily They NEVER share bottles/drinks Wash hands Occasional mental health days off |
| Masking |

OP here - I don’t want to mask bc I want to build their immune systems.
Not sharing drinks as a good one to remember. I feel like sports teams share drinks all the time and illness starts to spread like crazy. |
| Which C and D do you use? |
| That’s odd, my high school kids are almost never sick. Dear kids exercise regularly? |
They may have compromised immune systems. You should get some immunology testing. |
Yes and I wonder sometimes if that is the problem. One is a very competitive XC runner and I wonder if she is just wearing herself out with the miles she’s putting in. |

They are getting a few colds/viruses each a year but when we add all the kids together it just feels like a lot bc then I get it too.
For example my one DD had the flu in January, cold in April and now another cold/virus. Not sure if that is an immune issue but can definitely get it checked. She recovers fast though and the dr did say if it’s immune then they usually don’t recover fast. |
All three of them? |
| Kids went back to school in the last couple of weeks and literally everyone got sick within a week. My kids were sick. I was sick. Other adults with kids are sick. Everyone is sick. It's because of school. |
Mask! Your thinking is a myth look it up. |

Good sleep, good nutrition. Those are key!
Have them reduce sugar and increase produce. |
| I’ve always found taking vitamins helps me avoid getting sick. Many years ago I had a job where I traveled 75% of the time, so I was exposed to alot of germs and was constantly run down. Taking vitamins regularly seemed to keep me from coming down with colds and worse illnesses. |
