According to the Bloomberg article, Vanderbilt University has seen their stock rise meteorically by branding themselves as apolitical and fun instead of an activist hotspot like the Ivies. they're seen huge increase in interest from families across the country that want their kids to evade left-wing monoculture at the Ivy League and are now getting kids that in other years would've gone to HYP. |
Everyone in Evanston is praying that Northwestern’s Board can poach their current chancellor. |
Great. It one of the most selective colleges in the country. 5% acceptance rate.
It'll be in demand regardless of the U.S. political dynamics. |
DC is really torn between Penn and Vandy. Vandy ED1 is so much easier than Penn. |
"huge increase in interest"
The final application, acceptance and enrollment numbers will tell the tale. |
Whatever. It's just a bunch of rich kids. |
So. |
Is your daughter intellectual and urbane? Or apolitical and fun? |
How is this even a question? Nashville vs Philly? Are you kidding? |
Vanderbilt has a very distinctive vibe. Especially for girls. Just beware and do your research. The $400 weekend fancy dinners get old very quickly. |
If you went to Harvard I'm the Pope |
If they like both, I'd try Vandy ED1. It's like a 30% admit rate compared to far lower chances for Penn. |
I don't understand why Harvard did what they did. They didn't need to go public and they could've handled it a lot quieter. Instead, they grandstanded for liberal pundits. But they're going to have to settle with the administration anyways when it's all said and done. |
Yeah this is what I’m hearing. “Those colleges are so annoying complaining that their families could be deported, their families no longer have money or the capital they used to, their parents have been fired from their government jobs, JUST PARTY LOSER!” |
Great school with all the extras-sarong academics, SEC sports, beautiful campus, great leather and attractive students. Let’s see 4 years at Vandy vs 4 years at Columbia, Penn, or Brown. Hello Nashville.
