in full disclosure, I am not affiliated with the SJC community.

What I witnessed on Friday was a total beatdown given by the Johnnies to Georgetown Prep. SJC was clearly the bigger and more athletic team on Friday.

Maybe Prep is really down this Spring or maybe SJC is really in a league of their own for this Spring. SJC vs BL will be a toss-up tomorrow but I fully expect the Cadets to beat Calvert Hall later this week.

Prep was overrated DC dogs over overrated. Also a year young than SJC. SJC is not a deep team. See them losing to BL on Tuesday

I'd agree some of the DC Dogs are all hype from the club lax circuit. It's becoming pretty apparent if your family has the $$$ and you can pay to be seen by Ty Xanders, statistically speaking should get catch his attention sooner than later.

Prep is really not a year younger than SJC... half of their team is 18-year juniors as several of them should be graduating this Spring.

There is a new sherriff in town and their HQ is on Military road, get used to it.

I just posted something similar in high school thread. We’ll see how long sjc coach sticks around. He will get some college attention very soon.

He makes more money as PE teacher than you think and has a nice life. I think the set up is good for him. And while the 22s are loaded, there are good younger players on team. Goalie (who is a holdback of the DC Dogs variety), UMBC Commit at M, the '24 attack, the '23 poles, '23 FOGO. While they won't be best in the country good, they aren't going anywhere. But yes, Landon won't be afraid to play them next year.

Coming from a Landon family we are grateful our coach dodged a game with St. John’s.

Probably should leave this year than. After the 22’s are they a average team at best

Has an excellent group coming in. Don’t see him or St. John’s going anywhere.

Depth means nothing in 1 HS game. Starter per starter they are better than Boys Latin all over the field. Anything can happen but I wouldn’t be surprised if the score is similar to the Prep game.

Playing Loyola and McDonogh this week will leave GZ 0-5 this week. Ugly start for the new coach. Anyone else think the clock is ticking on his tenure on Eye Street?

It will take years to build the program back. There isn’t a viable pipeline of lacrosse talent that is interested in attending.

New head coach at Landon (he was an internal hire?)... give him a year to get his feet wet and figure out how to run an entire program (HS and MS).

Well, they were attending for 10 years. Why don’t you enlighten us as to why they no longer want to attend?

The right coach and coaching staff can turn Gonzaga around in less than 3 years.

1. a cheaper alternative than Jesuit rival GP
2. good academic reputation but easier to get into than GP
3. the school values having a very strong athletic program
4. Big school with a high enrollment - there are enough athletes at Gonzaga in the halls
5. Metro accessible for most families who live close to a metro stop

I wouldn't be shocked if Wes Speaks is already thinking College ranks.

He used to coach at D3 power Gettysburg so he does have a collegiate coaching background.

Good point for HS only one school locally would be a step up.

So,is the staff the problem or is it the fact that Gonzaga doesn’t really recruit or give out Money?

Once GZ starts accumulating losing seasons their lacrosse reputation falls. The top players are going to gravitate towards the school with the best programs. If you look at who is attending this fall you will see a dearth of new talent coming in. This cycle will continue to feed on itself causing a multi-year set back.

Bummer for my son since he is one of the “dearth”.
