So a principal “scolded” his staff for not going to happy hour? So everyone showed up with smiles? I am confused because these are
Are you saying this principal would turn off the lights the AC and not get school supplies if staff didn’t go to happy hour? Oh come on…

These kinds of questions are exactly what I imagine teachers have to endure when they seek help with sexual harassment claims in MCPS. I’m so sorry this is the system that we’ve asked them to work in.

For those on the outside here is what happens when you don't play along:

You realize your classes are packed with all of the students who have behavioral issues and you're observed during these periods
You are no longer teaching the elective class that you developed
All of a sudden your classroom has been taken away and you are teaching from a cart zigzagging across the building in multiple rooms on multiple floors
You receive no invitations to interview at any of the schools where you applied
You are asked to cover a class every day
Your cart has a broken wheel
You never received the supplies that you ordered
You haven't heard anything about the field trip proposal you submitted

These are just a few examples from my personal experience. So yes, the air and lights can be turned off and the supplies can be cancelled and your soul can be crushed.

So staff end up at happy hours because of this? NOOOOOO
I am sorry but as an adult the principal would have one time to say something inappropriate to me and I would not continue to attend after work functions that are not required by MCPS unless I am trying to set him up and document everything he does.

As someone who filed a similar complaint, yes this is how MCPS treats its victims. Ignore the bad behavior by its staff and blame the person filing the complaint. It’s total gaslighting and it’s why the 18 complaints against the same individual was ignored.

In my opinion, I think if a broad investigation was done, there would be other cases where multiple reports of misconduct were received and dismissed against the same MCPS employee. MCPS does everything possible to ignore these types of problems. It’s true when the allegations are against a school administrator. It’s true when it’s a teacher. It’s true when it’s a coach. Same investigation tactics are applied by MCPS. The victim is the problem and to blame.

Or to say the kind of stuff this guy said to students.

If the teachers are free agents, what’s PP’s hot take on pre-teens?

Just gross.

What did he say to students? Was it one on one, was it in a group setting with other adults standing front and center? You people are reaching…

Maybe because someone let him know that’s where they were and someone invited him. How would he even know where they were if no one told him 🤔

You're hellbent on defending a despicable human....pretty gross. I'd imagine you're exactly like Beidleman which is the only reason you're defending his actions. Hope you get better soon!

Seems like you’re hellbent on retaliating from not getting your way. Why didn’t all these accusations come out when he was at Farquhar.

i think this is a good preview of what MCPS will say in a week or two when it closes this investigation.

Because MCPS covered it up, which is why we are here, discussing this

Because he got a job at Paint Branch before the article was published? The article was coming out either way. He just happened to get a new position before the publication.

The big question is who in MCPS knew about the 18 accusations and decided to promote him anyway. Besides the victims and witnesses, there were text messages and emails.

Here’s what I think is going on now. Beidelman has lawyered up. He is also privy to the process and decisions that allowed him to be promoted despite being a serial sexual harasser. His legal advisor is threatening to spill the beans on who knew what unless a large severance pay-out to Beidleman is provided as well as a non-disclosure agreement about the case for all involved, to include his victims who will also be offered payouts to get them to sign.

Unless MCPS pays for a lawyer I doubt he has money for one since he just got divorced.

There are lawyers who will represent him for a portion of his future severance.

Did you read the articles? He spoke to students in large groups and small groups

Victims are lawyering up as well. There are many of us that experienced a hostile work environment and we will not sign an NDA. People need to know what MCPS has allowed to happen and other teachers need to feel free to come forward with their experiences with other principals.

Wait is MCPS trying to make people sign NDAs? Would these prevent people from talking to IGs or OCR?

Thank you for your bravery and willingness to speak up to change the company culture in MCPS. I am sorry that you and your colleagues had to endure what the Washington Post reported. I hope you are fairly treated during the investigations and compensated by MCPS.

Won't happen. MCPS spends millions to make sure they don't have to pay out for lawsuits. Think this is the first time MCPS has faced lawsuits?
