Stop with the public v private already. No one cares about that. Move it to another string. If your kid is good he/she will get noticed. Let's keep this string about 2024 private please.

If you son plays lax at public school he’s nowhere near the caliber of D&D or W at Sjc. Enough with this argument. If your kid is good in Public School then your lying to yourself, he won’t get noticed.

Fyock is good and will get his shot but the guy in front of him (junior) got the W in their first game and did well so not sure they'll replace him. Johns Hopkins had Jack Webb come in on relief for Chayse Ierlan vs Towson a couple of days ago. Only bringing that up as an example, Ierlan gave up some suspect goals versus Denver and I guess he was on a short leash vs Towson. I'm a goalie dad, it's a super tough position, you're only as good as the last five minutes.

I'd be interested if Gross at St Joseph's/The Heights gets minutes this season.

What? It is not true at all. "College coaches like the fact that parent are already use to paying tuition, and that makes them more likely to be able to pay going forward". That is ridiculous. I wouldn't want my kids going to school with anyone that thinks that way.

10% of American HS students attend a private HS. Look at any lacrosse roster. Probably 75-80% private schools.

That has nothing to do with whether or not a college coach thinks a recruited player can pay for tuition or not. I hope this is just a misinformed high school student posting..

He's not misinformed. College rosters are anywhere from 45-55 players. After the first 20, the player better have excellent grades and the family the ability to pay the tuition. Our stellar public school system is less likely to produce a player with both excellent grades and the ability to pay. College coaches save a lot of time by taking the path of least resistance.

Keep justifying to yourself why you spend 40k a year to send your kid to a private school. You are so wrong it actually worries me that all private school parents think this way. Go ahead a look at those rosters. I think you would be surprised with how many public school kids on on there. And for the record, our public school system is the best in the world. Those teachers and coaches do something you would never be able to do.

And yet you can't provide any specific details where public school lacrosse players are a significant part of the sport. Public school students outnumber privates 10:1 yet lacrosse private players out number publics by almost the reverse.

DMV --Private schools produce the most talent at the college level.
Baltimore--Private schools rule
NY--Publics play at a higher level (Except St Anthony's & Chaminade)
Philly--Privates lead the way
New England--Private boarding schools are king
Texas/California, Northwest is a mix.

There are over 350 schools that play D1, 2, & 3 lacrosse--that is at least 14,000 players.
The NY and CT public school systems fill a large % of lacrosse players.

As a parent decide what works for you.

Time to move on to the season.
