This is particularly pertinent to our are (DC metro)

But economists say that Black women are being hit especially hard by Mr. Trump’s policies, which are also rippling through the private sector as corporations have abandoned their diversity, equity and inclusion practices and related jobs, many of which were held by Black women.

The most recent labor statistics show that nationwide, Black women lost 319,000 jobs in the public and private sectors between February and July of this year, the only major female demographic to experience significant job losses during this five-month period, according to an analysis by Katica Roy, a gender economist.

In my office if you actually want to get something done, the most competent and knowledgeable people in the building are all older black women.

This is OP. I am black and fed. I have had plenty of fellow black female coworkers, some great, some who got on my last nerves and did anything but work. Black women are just like anyone else, some are valuable employees, some not. So no reason for us to be seen as particularly unqualified.

I don't see your point as the Republicans have been delighted with everything they are doing. Are you afraid to discuss how deportations possibly impact people of Spanish speaking heritage more than others? I haven't seen that the left is afraid to make that connection, they see doing so as a sympathetic take. Why can’t black women have the same sympathy from the left?

It is happening in the Services and Media as well.

He and Miller are aiming for white supremacy before the Civil War, and if you are brown, you are not getting educated or a job. Jews will be on that list as well, so will Muslims, Palestinians, etc.....

We are not talking about "brown" people, or Muslims, etc right now. There discussion is about black people. There have been endless discussions about what is going on with other groups individually without mention or care of black people, so no need to bring them up here.

I'm not afraid to discuss anything, but "Trump hates Hispanics" didn't even work on Hispanic voters so, no, I don't think that's the way to go. Pick winning narratives. For the federal workforce, veteran care is a big one. Any kind of capacity that's highly visible and people care about. Wildfire firefighters. That law enforcement officers have been pulled away from criminal cases to patrol tourist areas. Which is more important, sympathy or occasionally winning an election? It is unbelievable to me that the Times is still doing this.

I’m not suggesting it’s imaginary. I also read the linked article. But numbers without an anchor are just floating around. Where is the year on year comparison? It very well may be 100% accurate in messages but poor data.

Not PP but my experience in white collar DC is there is almost always at least one black woman admin who holds all the institutional knowledge. Even at right wing think tanks 😂

Other than that phenomenon, of course you’re right. The competence runs the gamut. Just like any other group.
