GMU Law - where they teach you to undermine 250 years of legal precedent and pledge blind faith to Donald Trump rather than the constitution of the United States.

Thanks but no thanks.

Your ugly red MAGA hat is preventing your from using your brain. The school can do fine in rankings and still have sold its soul to the devil. It has become the breeding ground for clerks for super right wing Trump appointed judges. That doesn't mean they are dumb. It just means that they are morally bankrupt and are throwing away all precedents and ways of practicing law that governed our country for most of its history. Some of those perhaps could have used some tweaks. But not what is happening now.

Neither of the Big Law firms where I've been a partner hire from GMU. If a candidate came in from there, would need to do serious vetting.

BigLaw tends to hire from a very small # of top-ranked schools where pedigree is important to clients (and existing partners); a reputation for being liberal or conservative is usually inconsequential, outside the question of "fit" within the firm's culture. Plenty of firms are facially apolitical and only care about professional competence, work ethic, and fit.

I just worked with an intern from GMU Law this summer, and I was impressed. This person wasn't overly conservative and definitely not MAGA. Went to GMU because they offered the best financial aid, and because they have a strong externship program.

Heaven forbid you get exposed to some ideas that go against your Communist idiocy orthodoxy?

law school got a lot more competitive, especially around here, because lots of government workers (including probationary ones) got laid off and are looking for the next steps in their careers or a place to hide out for a few years. And a lot of undergrads who might have otherwise gotten entry-level government jobs are applying for grad school instead.

This! Lord help us that SOME college students hear undergraduate law or law school ideas that have NOT been processed by MSNBC or CNN!

Signed Harvard Law School and appalled at what you types think suitable EDUCATION is in America, Law or undergrad

Thank you for reaching out.

You have no idea what you are talking about. I am a Harvard Law graduate and wish we had had one law school in the nation like GMU back in the early 80s, but it didn't exist. So students who had a moderate conservative/Republican bent (which means OMG we believe in more power being given to the states and the end to a Imperial presidency and a bloated federal government - just like the founding fathers wanted) had no law school to attend So we students went to harvard/stanford/yale and kept our mouths shut because the liberals of the 60s 70s and early 80s had CONTROL of the law schools.

Oh, spare us all. I bet you have no issue with the LWNJs coming out of Yale Law and Stanford Law, to name just two. You simply want all lawyers to be far left. Get a grip.

Like DEI poster children Clarence Thomas and JD Vance?

I want lawyers and judges to follow the law. I don’t want them to be doing the dirty work of a crook like Trump.

You're the type of person who will never be happy until there are nine liberal justices on SCOTUS. Personally, I like some diversity of thought and am happy with a liberal/conservative split. Oh, and also with law schools that aren't degree mills for left wing activist nut jobs.
