| Takeaways: this is a great year for a full pay private school kid who desires an ivy plus. |
| Stanford is cutting 360 jobs. Northwestern 425. It's everywhere. |
| This PP keeps posting here and on Reddit to discourage others from applying. Other schools are going through the same. |
| So, I guess lower aid, too. |
| I wonder if the job cuts will affect these institutions in terms of quality. Is it still a good idea to pay in full for possibly lower quality education? |
| If they cut TAs, wouldn’t that mean professors will have to actually teach? Could be a good thing. |
It never was a good idea, even less so now. |
No, Professors won't teach more. Teaching undergrads is not really part of their job. Fewer classes and more adjuncts will become the norm. |
This. |
| There are several threads on this same topic. Can they be consolidated? |
YES!!! I'm noticing the same! |
| The massive orgasmic feeding off the government teat is exposing the frivolities and profligacy of all colleges, not just UChicago, Michigan, Michigan State, Iowa, etc. |
| Even Princeton is cutting. |
When you or a family member dies from a disease that might have been cured by research at one of these schools, I'm sure you will feel the same way. But a) you're dumb, and b) you will be dead. If Fox News told you to jump off a bridge, would you jump? If Donald Trump told you the sun orbits the earth would you believe him? Asking for a friend. I find your stupid comments about universities particularly ironic being posted in a thread about universities. If you don't like them, don't send your kids to one. All of the migrants are being kicked out - there are fields to be harvested. Get out there and start picking. I need my fruits and vegetables. Move it. Now. |
