| Lately I’ve been trying to be more intentional with how I spend my time, just trying to make the most of my weekends instead of letting them fly by. A recent life event reminded me how quickly things can change, and how important it is to really enjoy the time we have. I’d love to hear what your ideal weekend looks like, just to get some inspiration and maybe new ideas! |

A perfect weekend to me would be one that incorporates both rest as well as productivity.
For example, since I work full-time during the week, for obvious reasons I would love to sleep in on weekend mornings. I also would love mid-day naps as well. Zzzz….. Lol. I would enjoy using my free time practicing some self-care such as taking an “everything” shower 🚿 or a long, warm bubble bath, getting my hair cut/colored or perhaps getting a mani/pedi. Maybe even purchasing some new clothes every now ➕ then. On the productivity end, I would also like to utilize some of my free time deep cleaning my home, getting rid of clutter or organizing a closet, my kitchen cupboards and/or my storage bins. And socially I would like to meet a good friend for a meal, a movie & some catching up! Hope this helps!!

One day:
🌲🌲A walk in nature and shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing. Taking an hour after breakfast and coffee, focusing on the woodsy smells, watching wildlife, slowing walking with stick to take in and appreciate nature. ☀️🍂 A walk in the warm sun for vitamin D, enjoying the colors of the leaves changing 🥗 A big burrata tomato salad with fresh dressing salad to make my body feel great 🧹🧽 After the above, I would have energy to clean, organize and make my kitchen smell like lemons 🍋 and finish my chores for a restful evening 🍷glass of wine and a movie for all of my hard work🍿 Next day: 😎All the work is done so I can relax and enjoy my favorite hobbies and sunny places 🌊☀️👙 |

I love a good weekend trip!
Knock off early on a Friday afternoon to drive or fly to your destination so you have two nights away. Return by bedtime on Sunday night. That is the best way to live your life. |
| My perfect weekend would be waking up early and having some coffee while reading a book. After an hour or so, I’d change and have a really good workout with a long, hot, shower after. Depending on the time of year, the workout could be hiking. Then I would proceed to my studio where I would spend the rest of the day quilting, uninterrupted, while listening to a really good audiobook. |
| The weather is going to be so nice this weekend, I'm planning a pretty great weekend. Like a PP mentioned, my perfect weekend includes chores because otherwise things just pile up. Tomorrow my DCs usual morning game is cancelled, so I'm going to go on a long walk. Then I plan to do some fall clothes shopping in the afternoon. My neighborhood is having a party in the evening. I'm also going to do lots of laundry. Sunday I hope for church, another walk, changing all the sheets, and meeting friends at a winery. Monday I'll be cleaning out the garage. |

My ideal weekend is at the beach. I like going out on a boat, preferably with friends and/or family. I like finding live music and hanging out a bit. A bonus is when the venue is outside. I like having dinner with my family, preferably some type of fish, and playing cards when we’re done.
I like arts festivals and Christmas markets. I like going to Eastern Market to shop and have lunch. I like getting pedicures early in the morning before the nail salons get chaotic. I like having lunch out with wine - not usually dinner though because I don’t like to eat a lot late in the day. I like going on hikes and bike rides (trails not streets). I like to shop for supplies for one of my hobbies and to work on that hobby. I like going to Frederick and Annapolis for shopping and lunch. I like to go shoe shopping. I like to take showers in our outdoor shower. I like when I workout, not because I like to but because I like how I feel afterwards. Like you, OP, I try to be intentional about how I use my time off. When my kids were little my list was a bit different but I also tried not to let time just pass. I hope you get lots of great ideas. |

I love that you're asking this before a long weekend so I, too, can be more intentional!
My perfect weekend starts out with a Friday night movie with DH and oldest DC. Other key ingredients: Time to drink coffee and exercise while kids watch morning cartoons and DH sleeps in. A social get together. An outdoor adventure. Pool, hike, beach, visit a historic site, etc - just something that gets us out of the house and out of the routine. As a bonus, I like a good cooking project, but not if it gets in the way of the outdoor or social time. If the weather's bad or we're hosting, that's a good excuse. |

I've been thinking about this a lot lately as I'm going through a divorce so weekends look different now.
Kid weekends- up early, usually the first ones at a coffee shop when it opens, get coffee and donuts to go and then head to a park or nature center. When the rest of the world wakes up, see extended family or close family friends. Cook dinner together, make a fort and read books or watch a movie. Non-kid weekends- up early, make coffee, read in bed. Garden, farmers market, thrifting, or house projects. Try to catch up with a girlfriend or see my mom. |
| I’m an introvert. My perfect weekend involves staying home and not needing to go anywhere or to do anything. |
| Sleep, food, sex, sex, sex. |

Friday - Sleeping in. A really indulgent lunch with good ambiance and food. With kids - some sort of new outing or activity. Sans kids, getting out of the area to scenic place.
Saturday - maybe someone took our kids?! If so, a night out at the theater. If family, a night out to a movie or show or with friends that also have kids and an evening of company over dinner. Sunday - a day at the spa/binging shows. Doing nothing all day. Without out the kids, agree - def sex sex and more sex! lol |
