DNC considering convention for the first time in 44 years

But now it might help with fundraising and messaging.

Interesting idea. It would be a good place to test out messaging and it gives a platform for stars to breakout in their speeches (ex: Barack Obama before he even became a Senator)

I'd love to see some strategy rather than feelings. For the love of Pete, they need to be smart enough and strong enough to ensure this never happens again.

The GOP needs to get their act together as well. It took a total team effort from both parties to get us into this mess. At least the Dems won't be the ones noted in the history books as the party who nominated Trump in three consecutive POTUS elections.

If this is real news, this is the first thing that the DNC is doing since Trump got elected that I agree with. As long as they allow equal time and placement for a wide range of candidates and don’t sideline AOC and Mandami. We need the fresh young voices. IMO Trump raises some good questions (why are we funding endless foreign wars? Why should we let US companies profit off of support they receive from the US govt without a return? Is free trade really that great? Why aren’t we more healthy for all that we spend on healthcare) BUT his answers are terrible: C&C (corrupt and cruel).

I’d love to hear from Dem politicians their answers to these hard questions.

Exactly. The Dems are full of sh*t when it comes to listening to dissenting or even different voices. Yet, DCUM likes to claim only one party pulls shenanigans like censoring speech. Plenty of people in the Dem party wear brown shirts. Watch your backs if a midterm convention happens.

As a former Dem who now hates the Dems, I really hope they have this convention. The Dems have learned nothing and still hold the incredibly harmful positions that had them booted in 2024. I say let them speak.

The convention will be a series of crazy Dems ranting about Trump, defending the "right" of someone's weirdo son to perv on girls in the bathroom and claiming that apprehending undocumented criminals is fascism. By the time they're done, voters will remember why these people can't be allowed to sniff power again.
