| New to middle school! At back to school night, the teachers mentioned Gradebook on SIS. I logged into SIS and don't see a tab for Gradebook - am I missing something or it is not available yet because it's still early in the school year? |
| It’s not available yet. I’m thinking it will be up by next week. |
| They probably need to finalize classes and then they can load the gradebooks. I know DS, an 8th grader, has had some homework assignments and a quiz already. I trust that his teacher is keeping track of things and will enter the grades when they can. |
| Thank you, glad to know it's not just an access issue |
We've been able to enter grades since day 1. Kids just can't see them. My gradebook will appear on your end with a half dozen things in it. |
| Gradebook module should be available in ParentVUE and StudentVUE on Tuesday 9/2 at 6:00 a.m. |
But why can’t we see it? It’s ridiculous. Grades have started like you said. |
Because some classes don't have grades yet and if parents see grades in some classes and not others, they flip out. |
Probably because kids are still switching classes. Teachers might have access but it could be harder to remove a kid from a grade book once it is in SIS then it is before it is on SIS. I am not an IT person but I can only imagine that the software might be finicky. Kids have had some homework and some might have had a quiz by now, DS had one in geometry and has had homework in geometry and Japanese. That is it. I don’t need to see those right now, next week will be just fine. His geometry teacher told them their grades so he knows how he did. |
OP here, thank you! |

I am about to send this
I hope you are doing well. I am writing to respectfully remind you that FCPS policy requires teachers to update their gradebooks on a weekly basis to ensure families have accurate and timely information about student progress. I kindly request that gradebook updates be made consistently in accordance with this policy. If this does not occur, I will have no choice but to raise the matter with the principal for further review. Thank you for your understanding and for your continued support of students’ academic success. |
To whom? Your child's teachers? Why not see if they are entering the information in a timely manner before sending them any nastygrams? The gradebook is not even up yet! |
Stop pretending that you're the OP, that wasn't me. |
This is not the OP, FYI. This is a psycho! |
You have issues. I never tried to pretend I was the OP. It was obvious I was a NP that jumped in to ask the teacher a question, which was answered. |
