| What is going on in this office? Who oversees this office? There are delays in hiring and completing employee checks. What the F ing plan does MCPS have to efficiently and thoroughly get hiring done? Do they need parents and students to do the damn work? |
| Also, the Fed to Ed program is taking away positions from teachers who are actually certified. Meanwhile, some person from the IRS has conditional certification...ridiculous. |

Theres already a thread on this but to emphasize, all employees have had a background screening and initial fingerprinting. They are working on completing ADDITIONAL cps checks along with re fingerprinting employees and enrollment in the rapback system.
Hiring is moving along at a normal pace. There are 3 teachers at my school who were hired this month, they got their prints and screening done on time and have been at work all week. What are you yelling about? |
Explain how if there were excess openings that exceeded the # of certified teachers who were interested in applying? |
Taking away? What!!! Can you elaborate? If there is teacher shortage, don't they want former Feds to apply to work in MCPS? Are you saying they are prioritizing Fed workers over teachers already employed in MCPS? |
Who is yelling? And where is the other thread about this? |
| What is the average time from applying to hiring right now in mcps? |
Well they aren’t hiring people who are certified and more than qualified. I have two friends who were trying to move to McPs bc of the shit in DC and got zero calls this summer. No interview invites, just straight rejection emails. These are both teachers rated highly effective in DCPS and have 10 years experience. I’ve heard similiar on the MCPS teacher fb group. |
What's the thinking behind this? |
Rejection emails from who? Because you can only get a rejection email if youve been pre screened by the county first, then you can apply to a pool and the staffers help place you. |

What subjects? I took a Special Education job because I couldn't get a social studies job despite being certified to teach it. There are plenty more special ed jobs out there |
MCPS is gonna MCPS. They should be renewing these annually. Other school systems (and companies where employees have a security clearance do this). Just learned about this MCPS department today, because main MCPS X account retweeted them: MCPS Department of Systemwide Equity: https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/equity/ 10 staff members, so that's at least $1mln in budget just in staffing costs. I guess they can't spend the money on the HR system to ensure all employees are paid on time but... |
You're really mad about 10 people who work evenings and weekends training mcps staff on working with Muslim, Latino, black students and working towards equity? 10 for the whole county? K. |
