Long Guns OK in DC

Anonymous
The USAO in DC has said it’s now ok to walk around DC with a rifle or shotgun (they will no longer be prosecuting those offenses). That ought to bring relief and relaxation to the White House Secret Service and feds patrolling the streets of DC.

I am not sure the Trump militias understand how this is going to end badly for them.

I hope all the people on this forum who have been cheering for federal involvement for YEARS are happy. They. Do. Not. Care. About. DC.

Crime will start to go up because of BS like this, overcharging, and incompetent prosecutors

They will regret this decision, but oh well.

Won't that make security for members of congress and the president extra-hard?

The news stories suggest that the long guns in question will still have to be registered in DC, which will certainly limit the effective scope of this order, at least in the short run. The extensive restrictions on which guns DC allows to be lawfully possessed and registered in DC also seem to remain in effect.

Adding, they also seem to make clear that felons in possession will still be prosecuted.
