DS is entering senior year and already applying to analyst/leadership development programs.
How has it worked with recruiting timelines and accepting and comparing offers? |
|
Your kid is in finance. Everything is way early in finance.
Everyone else doesn’t really apply till end of fall or beginning of spring. I knew kids getting jobs that they applied to in may. |
DS is exploring options and has seen many CPG brands open up |
Many CPG positions currently open are still financial positions. They just aren’t at a bulge bracket firm. |
| My kid is a senior and looking now. Several jobs didnt open until June. Not finance though. |
| Meaning just graduated … not rising senior. |
| OP here. Looking to see when kids who have graduated in recent years typically landed jobs |
| DD graduated in 2024. Received and accepted an offer from F500 healthcare leadership development program right before Christmas of her senior year. |
|
My older DS graduated with a degree in Business Data Analytics in 2022. He was applying/interviewing in the fall of his senior year. He had four job offers by Thanksgiving.
My younger DS was a Math and Secondary Ed major and just graduated in May. He was looking for teaching jobs - high school math. He didn't even start applying until probably March of his senior year. He accepted a job offer about two weeks after he first started looking. |
| DD got a Big 4 offer last week, she's going into her senior year |
| DS got a job 1 month lost graduation. Height helps I don't care what people say. He is 6'4. Otherwise nothing special about his profile. He graduated with a 3.4 GPA in electrical engineering and finance minor. He is wrong for Verizon in New York. |
| DS didn’t graduate but lined up a good job right after coming home. No degree but he speaks multiple useful languages and is charismatic. |
So he's unsuccessful and mooching off of you. |
| My DC who just graduated from UVA told me that many of his friends who had jobs lined up have had their offers rescinded or start dates delayed until 2026. |
DC 25 at top 10:all who were looking had jobs by graduation as all were telling the parents at graduation events what the plans were. Large friend groups, 15-20 grads at various grad parties across the weekend. About 1/3 were not looking because had med/law/grad lined up. Every school but one that we heard was ivy or T20 range. |
