Can’t lose last 15 lbs on mounjaro help?

Anonymous
I lost about 10 pounds but can’t seem to lose 15 more to get to my pre covid and pre menopause weight. Any advise or help?
I had nausea and then started on acid reflux meds and can tolerate now but do have some weird food aversions etc. trying to go up in dose - was on 5 and then tried 7.5. But may now try higher? But just now stuck.

Any advice?

A grandparent takes mounjaro and she’s as thin as can be. She doesn’t eat breakfast, sometimes only has nuts and an apple for lunch and for dinner, she eats one plate of food, usually low on carbs, never goes for seconds and no dessert, except a few bites on occasion. She complains about stomach issues but doesn’t attribute it to mounjaro and will never stop mounjaro. She loves being skinny at 70+ (size 0 or smaller). She does seem more frail though, having broken a bone recently with a fall.

Are you tracking your calories and protein?

I’m 805. Is that sarcasm? The point of the story is eat like a bird but also lift weights so you don’t break your bones. Your eating drives your results, not just the drug alone. It took her a year to continually eat less and less as a habit until she reached her smallest size. She’s on a low dose.

Agree. All I got from the story is Grandma doesn't eat and is frail. LOL.

Ok good point, but ‘eating less’ is relative. The smaller you get the less you should eat if you want to keep losing. You have to always be eating less than the month before.

I was trying to illustrate how little she eats to give you some perspective

Old people require far fewer calories bc they’re much more sedentary. Even without the shot, old people in general start eating much much less. But yes, eat fewer calories, lose more weight.

May need to try Wegovy or Zepbound. Talk to your Dr/prescriber.

Are you exercising? I wouldn't go up on meds but would focus on exercising. Walking, running and weight training!

I’m in my 40s but PP’s grandma story hits. When I was taking those meds to lose weight, that is what I ate. No breakfast, under 500 cal snack for lunch, one plate of healthy dinner with lots of protein. Lost 60 lbs and am keeping it off by eating the same but let myself have some chocolate now too.
