May need to try Wegovy or Zepbound. Talk to your Dr/prescriber.

Zepbound and Mounjaro are the same exact medication, and more effective than Wegovy. OP, you need to eat less and move more. You are not in a calorie deficit.

She doesn’t eat breakfast, sometimes only has nuts and an apple for lunch and for dinner, she eats one plate of food, usually low on carbs, never goes for seconds and no dessert, except a few bites on occasion. She complains about stomach issues but doesn’t attribute it to mounjaro and will never stop mounjaro. She loves being skinny at 70+ (size 0 or smaller). She does seem more frail though, having broken a bone recently with a fall.

Old people fall and break bones. Almost every person over 75 I know has broken their hip

I had nausea and then started on acid reflux meds and can tolerate now but do have some weird food aversions etc. trying to go up in dose - was on 5 and then tried 7.5. But may now try higher? But just now stuck.

Any advice?

I plateaued at 7.5 and am now on 10

Drugs only help so much, the key is that they help you eat less, but you still need to actually eat less. I eat like Grandma and still don’t lose every week because I cheat or drink alcohol occasionally.

How much did Grandma weigh when she started the drug?

If she’s still eating a lot she should go up in her dosage

This right here.. what are you eating. If you are not losing weight you are eating too much.

These medications are great. They help reduce hunger, cravings and make you feel full faster, but if you are still eating too many calories you will not lose weight.

I’m 805. Is that sarcasm? The point of the story is eat like a bird but also lift weights so you don’t break your bones. Your eating drives your results, not just the drug alone. It took her a year to continually eat less and less as a habit until she reached her smallest size. She’s on a low dose.

Yeah, you could have just said that instead of being the judgmental B that you are.

Sorry you got offended by her eating plan. I only illustrated it to help you.

Likely around 150-155, size 8.

I find that spending a few weeks eating only salmon or eggs for protein, with a lot of berries and green salads (any dressing, full fat) and unlimited veg, and sweet potato with olive oil when I want some carbs, tends to make me lose weight really fast and I don't feel hungry at all. I'm 46.

It takes a few days of this to reset, and then the hunger disappears and the food I am eating tastes really good and becomes what I crave.

And...do you think that this is a positive lifestyle for your grandma?

She doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. She’s chic, stylish, active, living her best and happiest life in her older years. Her happiness at her age trumps any feelings I have about potential side effects, though I hope she starts to lift weights in addition to her current walking regimen.

Yes, you created an entire post about this already. We know you're jealous of Granny. Guess what? WE DON'T CARE.

Old people require far fewer calories bc they’re much more sedentary. Even without the shot, old people in general start eating much much less. But yes, eat fewer calories, lose more weight.

I’m in my 40s but PP’s grandma story hits. When I was taking those meds to lose weight, that is what I ate. No breakfast, under 500 cal snack for lunch, one plate of healthy dinner with lots of protein. Lost 60 lbs and am keeping it off by eating the same but let myself have some chocolate now too.

500 calorie snack?

Can you not read? “Under 500 cal”

NP. I can read it. It just doesn’t make much sense. You can eat a decent meal in 300-400 calories.
